Engadget is reporting that Palm has hired Matias Duarte, the well known software interface designer.  Before joining Palm, Mr. Duarte designed the Sidekick and Helio operating system interfaces.

Engadget lists Mr. Duarte's title at Palm as " Senior Director, Human Interface and User Experience."
