DataViz Releases Documents To Go 9
Last update:  10-18-2006

Submitted by Alan Grassia

Today, DataViz released Documents To Go 9.0 for Palm OS smartphones and handhelds.  Three of the new big features in this release are:

  • InTact technology which allows you to edit and save document changes on the device while preserving the original document's formatting
  • Support for the creation of native Microsoft Office PowerPoint presentations
  • Integrated file explorer to allow you to navigate directly to the file you want on large storage volumes

Additional new features include:

  • View and edit footnotes, endnotes, comments, and text boxes in word processing documents
  • Enhanced support for bullets and numbering in word processing documents
  • Hyperlinks in tables of contents are now supported; which is handy for large documents
  • XY scatter plot charts and True Type fonts are now supported in spreadsheet documents
  • Speed improvements when viewing Adobe Acrobat PDF documents
  • New application interface and zoom levels

Before purchasing, be sure to check out the list of devices and file formats that are no longer supported in this release.  (Sony Clie and Garmin iQue users, beware!  Your devices are no longer supported.  However, you can still purchase Documents to Go 8.)

New customers can purchase the Premium edition for $49.99, while customers who have already registered with DataViz can upgrade for $29.99.  The Standard version, which only includes the basic features for working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Acrobat files can be purchased for the same price.
