MAKE A FULL BACKUP (ideally on a card) BEFORE USING.
THIS IS BETA TEST SOFTWARE.
Accessorizer is a unique utility that takes almost
any application or control panel and creates a
Desk Accessory (DA) that launches it on top of the
current application (and lets you come back to it
when done), assuming you have enough memory.
Accessorizer works on PalmOS 5.x.
A DA is a special applet that can be run on top of
another application, by use of a DA launcher. The nice
thing about a DA is that it doesn't force you to exit
your previous application. Thus, a notepad DA would let
you make notes while inside a web browser, and then come
right back to the web browser. There are a lot of DAs
that do lots of things, but DA afficionados always want
more, and Accessorizer can do such things as produce a
DA to calibrate your digitizer (just generate a DA for
the Digitizer control panel), view your contacts (just
generate a DA for your Contacts application), and so on.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Install Accessorizer.prc.
2. Run Accessorizer. There may be a lengthy pause
when you first run it, and a somewhat shorter one
when you generate a DA.
3. Select an application.
4. Press "Generate".
5. Install your new DA in your DA launcher.
If an application does not show up in the list, that's
because either Accessorizer can't create a DA for it,
or it has already created a DA for it.
Note that you need to have sufficient memory to launch
one application on top of another. Not all applications
will be compatible.
SUGGESTIONS
You might want to download MetaDA from Palmgear.com. MetaDA is a DA that
pops up a list of all your other DAs. This way, all you need to do is to
assign MetaDA to an action or put it in a favorites list, and you can
then access all your other DAs.
Some applications that it might be nice to Accessorize include:
- Calendar
- Tasks
- Contacts
- Calculator
- Digitizer

 | AutoNumLock for Treo/Centro 1.00b1 | pruss | 4.39 Kb | 209 | none | |
07-16-2008 08:34 AM | none |
 | AutoNumLock for Treo/Centro 1.00b1 This is a YAHM-based hack for Treo/Centro devices (get yahm from yahm.palmoid.com) that aids in the input of numbers by activating a temporary numlock while a number is being entered.
More precisely, if you press OPTION, then input $, euro, pound (if your keyboard has euro or pound), #, + or any digit, you get a numlock that lasts until you enter something other than $, euro, pound, +, -, comma, period, colon or a digit.
Thus, to enter "I owe you $12.44. I'll pay you tomorrow", you type "I owe you " as usual. Then you press the OPTION key, and then press the $ (i.e., the H key). Then you type "12.44." without using any shift keys. Then you press the space bar. As soon as you press the space bar, the temporary numlock will disappear, and you can type "I'll pay you tomorrow" as usual.
With the standard Treo method of entering numbers, you would either have to hold OPTION while typing all of $12.44, which would be a nuisance, or you would have to press OPTION twice before $12.44 to switch to optlock mode, and then press OPTION again after $12.44, which would be two more keystrokes than AutoNumLock involves.

 | BigChunk hack -- extend OS to enable memory chunks bigger than 64K | pruss | 748 b | 174 | none | |

 | BigChunk hack -- extend OS to enable memory chunks bigger than 64K USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. PUBLIC DOMAIN CODE WITH NO WARRANTY.
This YAHM hack has very limited uses, and if you have UDMH, you already have this functionality. What it does is hack the OS's memory allocation API, in a very simple way, to enable the allocation of chunks greater than or equal to 64K in size. This allows databases with chunks greater than or equal to 64K in size to be handled via standard Palm OS APIs (but NOT hotsync). Some ROM databases are like that, and on rare occasions (the only one I know is RoadLingua with a modified awmakerc) it is possible to generate an application database that overflows 64K in a resource/record. Of course the application may crash on such a resource/record due to pointer wraparound, but that's your risk.
This is designed for OS 5.x, but may work on OS 4 as well.
You might wonder why one would bother doing this. Well, one reason is that I have a RoadLingua database like this. Another is that it lets you copy databases with large resources, e.g., certain skin databases, to and from flash cards.

 | DA List 1.00 DA List is a simple application that lists all your Desk Accessories and lets you launch one (or you can exit by tapping outside the list).
While normally DAs are meant to be launched on top of other applications, there may be times when one just wants to run a DA as if it were a normal application, and DA List is the solution.
DA List will order the DAs so that the highlighted one is the most recently launched DA. (DA List shares its list of most recently launched DAs with three other DA launching utilities: myKbd/mySkin, MetaDA and FastLaunch.)

 | Fitaly Skin Load for TX | pruss | 34.91 Kb | 236 | 1 | |
01-11-2006 10:20 PM |

 | Fitaly Skin Load for TX Fitaly has been discontinued for Palm OS. However, a lot of users would like to use it on the Palm TX. Fortunately the T3/T5/LifeDrive version of FitalyVirtual works fine on the Palm TX, except it is unable to display the "skin", i.e., the Fitaly keyboard. FitalySkinLoad remedies this problem and thereby allows you to use Fitaly on the TX. FitalySkinLoad is unsupported software and Fitaly is not supported on the Palm TX.
To use this, you also need to get your own copy of FitalyVirtualT3 from TextWare Solutions. You also need to read readme.txt before using.
This utility provides another handy function for T5, LifeDrive and TX users. Occasionally installing an older program will carry along with it the T3 compatibility libraries which cause the input area to disappear on the T5, LD and TX. Running FitalySkinLoad (without selecting any of its functions) restores that input area.
Furthermore, mySkin users will be pleased to note that as soon as FitalySkinLoad is installed, a skin named "Fitaly Skin" will appear in mySkin. This can be loaded or merged by mySkin instead of using FitalySkinLoad in order to support Fitaly on the TX. In fact, you can then delete FitalySkinLoad.
