Bump
Over all, after three weeks or so, my T|X is relatively stable, except for the font issues. Whenever I use Fontsmoother, Fonts4OS5 or both things go crazy. |

| Soft resets with pockettunes Hi,
I am now facing soft resets with pockettunes. Even when not have loaded an mp3, pt just resets between 20 sec an 2 minutes.
I do not know when this started, it used to work.
I had and removed: UDMH, UniCMd, Innerbackup, PalmPdf, newer pockettunes.
I had removed pockettunes prefs (as far as I could recognize) with Filez
Even a hard-reset and backup with rescobackup (great program btw) did noy solve the problem.
Occasionaly the TX also resets on unexpected moments, but the reset with pockettunes is reproducable.
I tried disabling background play, etc etc, no effect.... btw, I also have sharkTXfix installed.
Does anybody have a clue what is going on here? |

| Well, I found a new "no no" app... WiFiGenie. Installing it results in an instant soft reset loop. The only way to get out of it is to start up with extras off, and revert to backup done just before running the installer. Hopefully this can be fixed, as it looks like a great app.

| If you haven't already, and it doesn't look as if you have, you should check out Palm Facts T|X compatibility list . Although it is not comprehensive, and hasn't been updated since November 30th, it is still a great resource to anyone who owns a T|X. Note the correct version of Launcher to use if you use a T|X is 1.1.2b, not 1.1.1 as stated on that page. Although compatibility reports for that app have been mixed.
By the way WiFiGenie is on there as NOT working, although WiFile Pro 2.08, WiFile LT, and WiFi-Where are verified as working.
Good luck. |

| Okay I have a problem with compatibility on my TX. At the beginning of the weekend my wifi was working fine. Over the weekend I installed and uninstalled several apps and restored from backup once. Now if i tap the wifi icon in the statusbar and choose on in the drop down menu or try to start wifile lite, my palm does a soft reset. Could it have something to do with MessagEase?? Any help would be appreciated. |

The same happened to me when I deleted some DB's from RAM. I think the reason was I deleted NetServLib from RAM, which seems to be an important (read-only) database. |

I locked Texplus with Resco Locker, my TX does not reset anymore, even when textplus is enabled in Blazer. Also Backupman seems to work fine. |

| You are able to run BackupBuddyVFSPro ? Every time I try I get a Palm error (0505, 0841). Have you got any tricks to getting BBVFS to run?
Gracias. |

I am also unable to use handreader to read my medical software, the files appear, but when I tap on them, the unit hangs. I also have ereader and isilo, but the books do not appear in these programs!!

| I am losing YAHM every time my T|X crashes. YAHM just disappears from the device. I restore it using the OnGuard Backup utility. The only two hacks I have installed are Tips Hack and Smooth Scroll Hack. Can anyone help? |

| Funny; I had the same thing happen when I installed Dmitry's skinUI... removed it, and yahm is back to normal.
Another thing that's developed recently however, is network-based resets. I've tried out veriChat and MunduIM, and after the first use (where everything gets set up), if I try to use either of them to connect to AIM or ICQ (MSIM and YIM are fine), I get an instant reset. The same thing appears to happen to me randomly when trying to run Blazer; with Blazer however, clearing the DBCache before launching appears to fix the issue.

| BackBuddy finally works OK, w/ much help from the developer's tech support I finally got all BBVFS deleted & started over with the newest rev they sent me. It didn't crash, but I guess I have lots in my RAM because it would turn itself off, I'd turn it back on, it would backup some more then it would stop the backup after about 4 minutes, not crash, just turn itself off, & when I turned it back on it would do a soft reset, I'd start the backup again and on & on it would be replayed. I went through this process about 7 times, each time it would get further along in the backup process ... finally on the 7th cycle it finished & I finally got a LAST BACKUP date & time ... whew ! Now I won't worry so much about the dreaded Hard Reboot.
Is this typical? the first backup having to be restarted time & again & again & again ???
Also, I'm really confused, I thought YAHM was only for pre-OS5 Palms ... dummy me. Can I run it & font smoother on the TX? what other Hacks can I safely run?
Thanks loads boys & girls,
the old lady's gonna get some extra shuteye tonight for a change !
