| SDIO camera Does anyone know if there's an SDIO camera that's compatible with the TX? The one made by Veo is NOT compatible with the T3, so I assume it's also not compatible with the TX. I remember that Palm made one a while back, but I can't find any info on it now. |

| There was a thread in this forum area last week that said that the Veo camera IS compatible with the T|X, and included a link to buy one cheap.
I can't find that post anymore, so it may have been spam. Anyway, I bought one, and it most definitely does NOT work with the T|X. Installing the driver actually put the T|X in an infinite reset loop from which I had to do a hard reset to escape.
Thank god for BackupBuddy.
Anyway, I'm still holding out hope that a compatible driver will be made available for the Veo camera, since I believe it's the ONLY SDIO camera available for Palm devices.
Maybe someone can hack it? |

| I have not seen an SD camera compatible with OS5.4. "All PDAs" generally means devices with the Classic PIMs and Legacy Garnet (as Palm likes to call it now) in my opinion. |

| Actually, the Veo camera works VERY WELL in the Tungsten E, so maybe I'll use it as a cheap backup camera, although most likely I'll just get a phone with a camera built-in (although I was trying to avoid that for places that don't allow cameras but where I'd still want to bring my PDA and cell phone).
Anyway, I'll keep looking. Is SDIO dead for the T|X, then? It has a port that will accept SDIO cards, but no SDIO cards will actually work with the T|X?
WTF? |

NVFS maybe? Similar to some other unnamed applications that haven't been updated <cough>. Changes to the Media application? |

| Well, even without any SDIO accessories I *heart* my T|X. I just would like to add a small camera so that I can leave my digicam at home.
I wonder if there are any bluetooth digital cameras out there... |

What about the camera of Bluetooth mobile phones? There is a Nokia with 2 MP camera with Zeiss lens.

| Just an update to this thread:
There seem to only be 3 different SDIO Camera companies out there: Veo, Pretec, and Spectec.
It's pretty definate that the Veo is incompatible with the Palm TX.
There have been several claims that I have read saying it doesn't work with OS 5.4 Palms, but I could be wrong...
There are actually 2 versions of Spectec's SDIO camera: a 300K version and a 1.3MP version. Both use the same driver, so if you Palm works with one, it'll work with the other. While there have been reports that the Spectec camera doesn't work with the T3, that's probably because the T3 doesn't have full-powered SDIO.
There is a picture of that Spectec camera working on a T5 at http://www.yesalbum.com/v001/pocketman/t5.jpg
If that picture is any indication, then there may be hope that the Spectec camera works with the TX |

| Not a camera, but I have an "old" SDIO bar code scanner from Socket and it works in my TX. I only had to update the driver since, because it had some problems.
Regards,
