| Find the files for Graffiti 1 that work for Treo 650. Copy them to internal memory (not Hotsync) then it works. |

| Location of Graffiti 1 Files for TX You can download them from MyTreo.net after registering on the forum. I don't have the specific link to the download page but you can search for it there. Or, send me an email and I will send them to you. |

i have no idea how to do either of the two steps above. but i HATE HATE HATE graffiti 2 and am motivated to get G1 back on this t/x. can someone
a) point me to the right files for the G1/treo 650
b) tell me *exactly* how to copy them to internal memory (i have a pc and windows xp if that's any help.
with my eternal and future and past thanks.

| Re: need step-by-step please Download the files from here.
You may have to register to get to the site.
Copy them to your SD card using a card reader.
Copy them from your SD card to the TX internal memory.
Perform a soft reset.
Walla!
Cheers!

so i finally got it together..the copying the files. i have g1 for lowercase but absolutely NO uppercase letters. When I do the stroke up for a cap, it just puts a dot (indicating it will be an uppercase) and then the dot disappears a few seconds later and no caps. no double stroke up for all caps either. is there a way to get g2 back??? so sad. so sad.

so i even dl'ed crossover which doesn't work well...it's hit or miss which caps come up as you cross the line and i write a lot on my palm. looks like i have to learn g2. can someone help me figure out where to find the files to put it back the way it was with g2? i'm guessing the method i used just overwrote the original files. sigh. just when i thought i was brave enough to do something amazing. oh well. but help.

I am sorry it is not working for you. It worked fine for me.
I would try downloading again and doing it all over. I am not sure how to go back without a hard reset. Before a hard reset, I would try a soft rest and see then if that worked, then I would try deleting the files.
Again, apologies for your troubles but it worked just as advertised for me. |

thanks for the nice thoughts. ok, so after i almost tear my hear out (not a good look at this point), suddenly my tx soft resets itself for no particular reason and the g1 works perfectly now! i guess it just wanted to do things on it's on schedule. but i'm set now. phew.
i had installed crossover and am thinking it's unnecessary and i can uninstall that.

1) Send a petition to Palm asking for G1 support
2) Use a third party application: Mobile Write http://www.inkmarksoftware.com/page2.html
I have a Clie NX70V and I can do G1, G2 & handwriting recognition on it
So you will be able to write G1 from the TX

Now come on. We all know Palm would *love* to give us our G1 back. They just can't do it for legal reasons. If you want to petition someone, petition Xerox to lay off a patent that they don't even really care about. |
