yet another invalid network settings NX80V BT ICS thread...
mine still doesn't work....it worked when I first installed everything, but the connection was "iffy" so I started doing research and changed a few things, and now I get the dreaded "invalid network settings" in netfront and any ping just responds with a timeout...
I just enabled ICS on my NIC card which is used for my dsl connection (btw, all of that is set to obtain automatically IP and DNS in the tcp/ip properties) in the BT lan server tcp/ip properties....no DNS is listed and the IP is 192.168.0.1 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0
which I understand it's supposed to be....in my nx80v, it is setup to connect to a local network via BT...and then under network I have a script suggested by everyone here and automatic on ip and query DNS checked...the connection/network log on my clie shows and IP of 192.168.0.1 but no DNS...what should I manually put in my clie and on the BT lan server tcp/ip settings and in my NIC dsl connection tcp/ip settings?
the funny thing is this all worked with auto IP and query DNS in my clie before...then I just had to go and mess things up! lol...
anyway please help
I tried reinstalling bluetooth drivers...tried the windows network wizard....tried enabling ICS on and off several times on my broadband NIC connection...I tried setting only the network access in the bluetooth services to auto and allow share and turned every other service to manual...
my clie connects to my PC fine....tried pairing it over and over...it connects...just netfront won't work and it won't ping any sites without a "timeout" error...
is this a DHCP problem? since my dsl uses "obtain automatically"....
I am thinking I just need to stipulate a DNS and IP in the clie, the tcp/ip settings for the BT lan...and for my NIC dsl lan connection....but what should I use?
as for the script...I am using the one off geekzone's writeup for clie's and BT ICS....
I also disabled my norton firewall...still nothing...
also I don't have a router...
