I was just wondering if there was a way to make the Treo Camera better, and I'm not talking about getting more resolution out of it, the idea is to have a software that would make the camera's settings available to us. I had before the Treo 650 a Clié TH55, and it came with a few features that made the camera a very good one even if it just took 640 x 380 pixels.
I'm talking about lighting, indoors and outdoors, and other cool little things that the Treo's camera seems to have in automatic mode. Plus the auto lighting in the Treo is not that good, not compared to the TH55's anyways. I guess that I'm asking for a patch to the original software to change the camera before taking the picture. But if there's a software that chances the pictures after taking it, that will work too.
I found an app from a French guy, the app is called "Pilotpaint", I told him to put in www.Palmgear.com
a few months back. The app works great in the Clié, but for some reason has a few bugs in the Treo 650. I have emailed a lot with this person and he has added a lot of features to the beta of the program. Stuff like: turning the image clockwise or counterclockwise, up to 5 undoes in modifying the image, brush properties, fill properties, eraser properties, color picker, zooming in and out of the image, image flip, image mirror, canvas size (you actually modify the size of your image), Brightness and contrast, Gaussian blur, negative image and slideshow functions to name a few of the features that the app has.
Not all of these were my ideas, just a few, almost all of them were inspired by "Photoshop" a program that modifies images for professionals. So in short when he fixes the bugs it will be like having a mini Photoshop on the Treo 650.
You can also save the images you modify in Jpeg and BMP format, directly on the card.
The link in Palmgear for the app is http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?f...1&prodID=106948
The version in Palmgear is not the latest beta, so you won't see many of the features that I mentioned above, but if you email the developer he'll send you the beta version....
If you feel this app may help you out into making the Treo a better device, please email the developer and let him know that we're waiting on the final version, maybe if he sees a lot of potential clients he'll speed up the process.
Like I said his French, new to the American market, not very good English, but he's easy going and listens to all your ideas and tries to put them in the program. You can email him using "the email a bug" function in the Palmgear page.
