I know this might sound like a stupid question, but when i connect to the hot spot at my university theres a blocker on that connection that won't allow me to surf unless i download and install an .exe. But i'm accessing this with my ux-50 so how would i install that .exe file onto my ux-50? I can download the file i need but from there i'm lost. If anyone could shed some light on my problem it'd be most appreciated. Thnx
Hmm that won't really help because the .eve file that i downloaded is an app that is supposed to install a SSH client that will allow me to surf, but i dunno if theres any way to run this on my ux-50
Then you should try a PalmOS SSH client. There are a few out there, depending on which version of SSH you need, which version of PalmOS you have, etc. Use Google or Palm software sites to search for "PalmOS SSH" and you should find a number of them. No guarantee that they'll work on your Uni's system, but a Windows .exe certainly will not.
Hmpf..I'd be highly suspicious of any open wifi that is forcing you to install an exe file .
You should report the issue to your University tech folks and see if they can find a work around for it. I have a similar problem at ABQ airport. They have free Wifi, but their system requires a browser window dedicated to maintain the connection. Since PalmOS can only have one browser window open, this makes their system useless to Palm users.
