#1 | | Guest | Nx80v/wl100 Hi, i recently bought a WL100 to go along with my NX80v. Im a former TJ37 owner so i was quite familar with the TJ37's wireless interface. Though when i tried the WL100 on the NX80v it was really different from the TJ37. I instantly tried connect but it wouldnt connect, i read somewhere that i should try channel 11, i switched my router to channel 11 and it worked, but it wont work with other channels. Is this NX80v with the WL100 that different from how the TJ37's network setting? And if it is, is it possible to change it? Cause i really hate how the router has to be on channel 11 for it to connect.
PS: Whats the difference between the WL100 and the WL110? I bought the WL110 on ebay, but the seller misadvertised it and i got the WL100, thinking about appealing it.
Thanks for any help provided, i really appericate it guys.

| As I understand it, the WL100 can be used in a CF Adapter card on a laptop. The WL110 can't. Look at the Wireless forum for more info on that topic (and actually the other too might better be answered by searching the wireless forum).
On the WL110 at least, there is no need to worry about channels. It should grab whatever is the strongest signal. If it is true that the WL100 can only use channel 11, you definitely should complain. The WL110 does NOT have that problem.
The CD that came with the card (assuming you got it) should have MobileManager on it. Install that on your laptop/clie. It helps you set up multiple profiles for when you are home on your (hopefully tightly secured!!) network, vs using an open wifi when traveling.

| If you don't want to use the card in your computer, you should email eBay and/or the seller about him sending you the wrong item.

nx80v didnt need a driver. Its not that i think he sent me the wrong item, its that he listed the item wrong, completely.

| There should be no problem with a wl100 using channels other than 11. Mine has worked on any channel I've set my network to.
I wouldn't complain that you got a wl100 instead of a wl110 as it has better performance and can be used on pc's as a side benefit. You should not need any drivers to use it on your nx80. The network settings are in the preferences application and you should be able to set it up to work with your wireless connection. The wl110 and wl100 work with the same network settings.
If I were you I would be happy with the wl100 and not worry about that. I would however be pissed about not getting the driver disk since it was listed in the auction. On the other hand, you don't really need anything from the driver disk that you can't get online somewhere anyway. I believe if you do a search you can find a couple of individuals who have images of all the various clie disks. You don't need it to use the network card.
You can also use the mobile manager application on your pc to manage the clie's network, but I never really liked that. I just make the network settings what I need on the handheld with the preferences network panel.
On the other hand, if it only works on channel 11, then it is defective and the seller should take it back and refund your money as he claimed it was working.
