"Files" Program Automatically Causes Soft Reset

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has dealt with a problem with the "Files" program included in the ROM of the lifedrive. Every time I even try to open the program my lifedrive goes into a soft reset and gives the following error:

A reset was caused while running "Files": FileRegistry.c, Line :843, Missing large icon

Does anyone know how to fix/prevent that? It's quite annoying because it renders the files program useless!

Thanks

Hi,

I had that once in the beginning, and the same problem occurs in DocsToGo when trying to open a file. My solution to this (and to other problems as well) was to reinstall everything carefully, one application after the other, and the problem never occured anymore.

HTH,
Laurent

The lifedrive is very finicky... nothing like my old Clie N760 (R.I.P.)

I decided to use the hard reset without wiping the harddrive trick and then reinstalled everything through the hotsync backup. Everything seems to be working fine again (as well as the "Files" program) I hope it stays that way!

Thanks for the help

(bump)

Any other ideas besides a hard reset. I already tried removing the Saved/Unsaved preferences too. Nothing doing. I think the problem happen after launching DocsToGo.

Thanks.

NVBackup saved the day with a selective restore.

hard reset to erase everything on the device and re-install everything fixed my reset issue for "File" application

Hmm, I would have though deleting Unsaved Preferences then performing a soft-reset would have cleared this issue.
