| did you try the hard reset? It sucks to lose all your data but it can be restored. Just go into your backup file on your desktop and delete the offending games and reinstall them one at a time to see which one causes the blow up.

| a soft reset may help you, instead of holding the power button like in a hard reset, hold the up button, it might let you get into the system long enough to delete the games

#4 | | Guest | temporary fix thanks for the suggestions. what i ended up doing is running a hard reset and then changing the name of the device. i didn't know that i could get into the backup files so i just reinstalled everything, and lost everything. just for future reference, how do i get into the backup files, and where would they be located? | |

#5 | | Guest | The backup files are under X (where x is your hard drive) programfiles-sonyhandheld-xxxxx(where x is your user name) backup. There is also an archive folder in the same directory which shows you all the files you have ever had on there. I had this problem once and pushing reset while holding the up-key let me in to delete the files, then i did a normal reset and everythin was workin, i re-installed the OK apps and was ready to kepp going.
Hope this helps | |

| I learnt to backup my RAM to MS before installing a new app. If the new app acts up, I just hard reset and restore the original RAM within 2 minutes.
To have a backup RAM in MS is also convenient when you want to restore your RAM on the road without access to your PC. Another advantage of MS backup is that you'll get the mirror image of the original RAM since the saved and unsaved preferences are restored. You may not get this when you restore your RAM from PC via HotSync. You end up need to re-enter all of the registration codes and settings for each apps.
