| TH55 and Keyboards... My wife wanted a keyboard for her TG50, so I did the research and came up with a Stowaway made for Fellows. I picked one up off eBay (new) for a fraction of what they originally went for.
In my searching the threads, there seemed to be some indication that the KB11 *might* work with the TH55. Like many here, I've used the Stowaway designed keyboards in the past and feel that they're superior to the KB100. Looking for a KB11 on eBay, I found a unit and got it for $4.99, plus shipping. The description said it would work with "T Series".
Imagine my disappointment when it arrived today and (as many here have found...)the first driver (from 2002) loaded form the Clie CD that came with the KB11 crashed my TH and required a hard reset. NO DRIVER I could find would enable the KB11 with the TH55 for more than a few seconds.
Again, NOT NEWS to the participants of the MANY threads regarding this issue.
I then opened the Fellows keyboard, expecting it to be different, and that it might work, especially when the package said specifically "Sony Clie". Waddaya know... it's exactly the same Stowaway as the KB11. Of course I had to try, but it didn't work either.
I'm throwing in my two cents here in an effort to beat this horse even deader than it already is, because I wanted to relate my experience and sum up the many threads I've read.
1. There is NO REASON why the KB11 *shouldn't* work. The KB11 will work with the NX series, and the TH55 connector is the same as the NX.
2. As has been noted, the KB11 *does* work with the TH55, though erratically. This seems to indicate that there is a driver conflict, not a hardware conflict, especially since using *ANY* driver with the TH55 and Hotsync starts whe the TH is linked with the Stowaway. Stowaway's lack of effort in the is regard is deplorable, especially given tha their keyboards are generally outstanding.
3. The KB100 isn't an option. I've read nothing good about it *except* its size.
4. How is it, that "T Series" means TJ and TG, but NOT the TH ???
I'm disappointed. I guess I'll forego using a keyboard, give one to my wife to use with her TG50 (as originally planned) and eBay the second unit. I don't really want to use the wireless keyboard. I especially didn't want to spend $60 for one.

| WHAAAAA!!!!!! Me thinks you have the two reversed. It is usually I hear that the KB11 isn't reliable and the KB100 is the best. Well, it is for me, its a great, portable keyboard. . I have the KB100 and works very nice with the TH55. What did you hear bout the KB100 that isn't good???

Coming from *you*, that's reassuring... I'll keep my mind open for one. The thing I don't like about the wireless Stowaway (an I realize this is stupid...) is that it requires batteries.

Tony |
What I love bout the KB100 is that it doesn't require batteries. The TH55 powers the beauty. Also since I don't have a cradle for the TH55, I like to use the Keyboard as the cradle since the keyboard does have a slot for you to connect the powercord to the keyboard. Though I have to admit, you can only use it in portrait since you do have to use the connectors to type I wish it could go landscape, but overall, its still a great keyboard.
EDIT: Ok, did lil search on the KB11...and... that looks too...mechanical heheh. I like the KB100 appearence, though it would be nice if it was in the black like the KB11 to match THea ^_^
