| Hey,
Literally 15 minutes ago, the girl that lives across from me just walks in my room, picks up my ux50, and half throws it on the ground.
Sure it was an accident... but now it's busted.
I believe it is the back light, there is a large crack running down the center of the screen.
(Sry, but my only camera is my ux, but you can see the area where the lighting is gone)
And now the hinge is also really loose.
What do i need? |

| Do you still have parts for the UX50? If yes, do you have a cradle? |

| Anyone know where I can buy the little screws that go into the bottom and sides of my UX. I guess when I took it apart a few months ago I didn't tighten them all the way and am now missing some.

| There are 3 kinds of screws on the bottom and sides:
1. A large round-head + (Phillips), next to MS slot.
2. Four small flat-head stars on the bottom.
3. A small flat-head + on the side, next to the capture button.
Which ones you're missing?

I am only truly missing one. One of the two that goes into the bottom of the swivel screen. I didn't even remove those two. One of my four bottom screws is stripped and for whatever reason the one next to the capture button is in all the way but doesn't seem to be keeping the halves tight.

| I have spares of those tiny + screw. Just PM me.
You can use Loctite to fix the stripped screws in place.

| Jog Dial DanT
Do you have any thoughts about the UX's jog dial acting up. When I press it in it still functions as normal but yesterday when I rolled it up and down it gave little to no response. I blew into the area thinking dirt had collected. No help. I pushed it to the left while rolling it and that made it roll one or two 'spots' on the UX. Reset, nothing. Let it sit for a while and now it works.
Do you or anyone think its a hardware issue? If so, how easy is it to replace?
Thanks in advance.

DanT,
I've got a UX40 and the jog dial no longer works when I scroll, but it works when I press it. I use the jog dial a lot for scrolling through documents. Im certain its not a software issue, but a hardware.
The website lists this item:
ENCODER (ROTARY)
Sony Part Number: 1-478-199-21
I can only guess this is the part. And I don't know if this includes other parts of the jog dial. Can you tell me how I can fix it? I sent you a PM. Thanks. |

Thanks
