#1 | | Guest | Beaming files on a Memory Stick Is it possible to beam any files that are stored on a Memory Stick? I have some JPGs on my MS and would like to beam them to another device. I tried Filez but it doesn't even seem to allow anything on a MS to be beamed. Also tried YiShow (v4.5)... but when I tried beaming a JPG it says "Error occured while copying file to internal" (as if it needs to copy the file to RAM... and of course this won't work)
Anyone?
thanks in advance! | |

| Just tried it, nope. The beam program requires files to be on internal to beam. I'm not sure if there's a hack, there might be.

Any arbitrary file type? Essentially I need to be able to beam any type of file and not just .pdb and some proprietary doc format...
Thanks! |

| Can tealmover send adobe acrobat files too? I have army manuals that I want to beam to another person and one is 7megs and adobe. I tried to beam and it sat there after the other PDA recognized the beam. 15 min later.... nothing. |

| Theres a perfect application to send and receive every file from MS to MS (almost ). ITs called CFZap and you could DL it from PalmGear as freeware. That resolved almost all my probs with MS to MS transfer (file extension doenst matter anymore, cause CFZap catches the files before they are stored at internal).
But there is still one huge prob, which happens even with CFZap : If the file is larger then the free internal RAM on any of the 2 Palm OS devices (cause its cached first before sending at one Palm and cached before copied to MS at the second Palm . So enough free internal RAM have to be on each Palm) it wont work. There is no tool avail which for example directly beams data from/to MS. All of the avail solution cache the complete file first at internal. IMHO it wont be any real prob to split the huge file internally, so that it could be transferred to internal w/o any prob, then beam this segment, copy to MS and there joinnig the segments internally again. But such a tool doesnt exist (beside that it seems like this becomes more and more a real needed tool (this isnt the first thread opened bout this question)). |

| I've been looking for a utility like this - CFZap sounds like a great tool for copying jpg images between the memory sticks of my Clié and my wife's Clié.
I tried d/l'ing CFZap from both PalmGear, Freeware Palm. Both of them redirect you to the developer's site, www.mulliner.org Unfortunately, I think his site is down.
Anyone have a copy of CFZap?

| I have SplashPhoto with JPG files installed on my MS. There is an option to beam either beam a file or ALL in a category. I just tried to beam ALL files and it appeared to work.

Zork - I guess my corporate firewall was the problem... I was able to access the site and d/l CFZap from home without a problem.
Thanks

| I tried CFZap. Apparently it can only receive files but not send. Am I missing something? Because I was reading that this app can both send and receive... |

I was just about to ask the same thing. I installed the program on my two Cliés haven't been able to figure out how to initiate the MS-->MS transfer.
Anybody?
