#1 | | Guest | Palm wireless keyboard not working I just got a new Palm Universal Wireless keyboard for my Zire 31. The driver is installed, the infrared boom is lined up with my port, but the keys do not echo properly on the screen - I type the G button, I get an 8 onscreen. I type the B key, it backspaces. There is no key that does what it should, and I have pressed them all! Has this happened to anyone else or do you have any ideas as to what might be wrong?
Thanks!

| Jill, did you get an update for your keyboard already? And did you set up the layout? |

| Sounds like something similar that happened with me. I had assumed the used Universal Wireless I bought was a PalmOne product (because of the Palm logo on the top) but it turned out to be the model manufactured by Think Outside. Once I installed the drivers for that model, it all worked perfectly.

#5 | | Guest | update? No, I don't have an update - do you know where I can find one? I'm running driver v2.2P
Under the menu under Keyboard, then Layout, I just see a drop-down menu for English or French or German and English is chosen.
Thanks! | |

#6 | | Guest | case closed! It works! I am not sure what I did - I have been going in circles for hours, so I am not sure what went right this time that went wrong the other times. Thank you all for your help! | |

| I was gonna say it sounded like you had the driver in 5-row mode instead of 4-row mode... but nevermind :P
Glad it works now! |

| My Universal Wireless Keyboard had intermittent problems as well. The build quality wasn't fantastic (I'd say 'crap' was a closer description), and it stopped working completely one day. Fortunately it was under warranty, so I returned it and got another one, which seems to have worked fine for a few months. Maybe they just produce dodgy units now and then.
Edit: And the drivers on the CD were out of date and didn't work; I had to get newer ones from palmOne Support. Overall, it kinda sucked |
