| You answered your own question -- Sony has dropped the CLIE handheld line quite a while ago, so the stores started getting rid of CLIE inventories nearly a year ago. Basically the stores sold all the CLIEs they had and never re-stocked, since, well, Sony doesn't make them anymore. I had to buy my TJ37 off of NewEgg.com (brand new, decent price) -- a couple months ago, I got TH55 envy and I knew if I didn't scoop one up - the longer I waited, the rarer and more expensive they would've got.
At the time I got my TJ37, I was really close to dropping a lot more for the Tungsten|C. Then I started comparing features - the T|C had Voice Memo that the TJ37 didn't, but the CLIE had a headphone(not headSET) jack, AND a camera, AND cost less! I was basically looking for the cheapest PalmOS WiFi handheld, so the faster proc and more memory didn't really appeal to me.

Office Depot's website still lists the Clie UX40 in stock as a special order item. The cost is over $500, I think it was $548 or something like that. I had a friend who works for Office Depot check it out, and he said, that they could special order them. They are brand new, not refurbs. Don't know how many they have but at the price they are asking, they probably won't sell many.

| Definitely go to your nearest officemax. office depot, and staples stores, they often have old refurb UX-50's and new sitting in the back. Someone posted here that got it for cheap in one of those stores, but the websites dont always show everything in the stores.
