 | skin compression, ClieSkinner alpha test
I implemented support for zlib-compressed skins in ClieSkinner, after implementing support for zlib-compressed Bibles in PalmBible+. I've got an alpha test version that I would be happy to send to any registered ClieSkinner users together with a test compressed skin (I prefer registered users in this case as I would like users who are more experienced).
The compression does about 25%-35% for 16-bit skins, since lossless compression for images doesn't get that much. But, hey, any memory saved is a good thing.
Eventually, I would like to roll this into mySkin (the new name for SkinDIA) and SkinTW, but right now I am only deploying the code in ClieSkinner. Email me at arpruss at gmail dot com if interested.
