#1 | | Guest | Brightness fix Hi - my Clie has a small crack on the bottom left of the screen near the "brightness" circle so I am unable to adjust the brightness by using the icon. Does anyone know a hack or other method of lowering the brightness to save on battery power?
I am not speaking of the frontlight - but brightness control.
Thanks in advance. Mary | |

| Brightness Fix There's a special menu function that you can reach brightness from.
First, go to prefrences, then Jog, then enable jog assist (check it), then select additional menu
After you click on select additional menu, you can choose between a variety of different functions. Just put a check by brightness then click OK.
After that, just exit the preferences and you can access the brightness setting from the file menu (Tap the bottom-left menu button and it should be at the bottom of the list) |

| Cool! Learn something new today. Thanks bloodofkings.
Even the normal button is so small and sometime it is difficult to tap the right spot. Mine cannot be activated at the center of the button. I have to tap at about 11 clock position of that tiny button. This menu button option make it easier to launch it with your finger tip.
MegaLauncher does have this brightness button on the top right corner of the screen, but it only works if you are on the main menu, not in every apps.

| Thanks Thanks for the help, I do have an n760, as well, but meant for this tread to go under the s360 series - that Clie doesn't have the jog assist to do the brightness control. I've done alot of Google searching and haven't found a hack that handles brightness so it is what it is - not a big deal - Thanks again. Mary |

| The expensive way is to use MegaLauncher as I mentioned previously.

| DanT -
Megalauncher has that icon for the backlight in the upper right corner but I'm not aware of an icon for brightness - let me know if I'm missing something. I'll try it. Thanks. Mary |

| I use ML322. It has two little circles on the top right corner. The one on the left with half solid black is for brightness adjustment. If I tap on it the "Adjust Brightness" pop-up window will come up at the bottom of the screen with a bar and handle that you can drag from left to right (the right-end being full bright). Isn't that the brightness adjustment that you are talking about?

| Hmm DanT - It's very weird. I've checked my n760 & c360 and my son's n610 and on all of them, that icon only turns on/off the backlight. So I ran up to my trusty old Palm IIIc and there it worked the brightness - but only on the Palm IIIc. I'll have to go and read my documentation to see if there's a way to adjust that button or possibly upgrade my Megalauncher. Which Clie do you have? Thanks. Mary |

| I also have ML 3.22 on my N610 and the circle that is half black and half white opens the brightness adjust window, just like DanT describes. The other circle turns the Clie off. What version of ML are you running?

| Just checked my Clies and they are running MegaLauncher 3.2.2 - I did a Google search and found an updated trial 3.2.2 with HiRes and sure enough after downloading it - now that circle changes the Brightness control. So that's good to know for those needing either application. Thanks all. Mary |

| I use the Pen Drag feature to pop up the brightness control.
Preferences; Buttons; Pen then select Brightness.

| That is another cool option, but I've use it for Graffiti Help, and trash out the Graffiti sticker.
