For a pun/joke to be so horribly bad that it crashes a computer? I think I was the last poster on another computer forum, it was a really, REALLY bad joke... and the entire computer [hosting the forum] crashed afterwards....

I think that is a new record for me... not sure how I can top it....

Yep, I believe it to be possible, you've posted some pretty lame things. *Kidding*

When I worked for Interplay, me and my friend discovered a bug with Lotus mail, if you sent an e-mail with a "re:"+(super long number), it would instantly crash the recieving users e-mail if they opened it. So I sent a goodbye e-mail to everyone in my department when I got transfered to a sister company.

This was one of my REALLLY bad groaners....

That has been one of my points with software and trying to evaluate security. There are bugs in almost anything, you stumble across them randomly or some hacker gets lucky and stumbles across it in code.

I still remember an old auto-play robot I built for an atari planetary conquest game. It was my first use of the name SamuraiCat, I gave everyone on our team a script to play their turn, it would play using the best known techniques at the full speed of the modem. Unfortunately the programmers of the game never figured that a full team of 10 people would be able to produce the absolute maximum number of turns possible (real-time) in an hour's turn. The result was devistating, as we sent our moves against other Bulletin boards across the nation, they crashed one by one. Since my robot identified itself with a message to the receiver of attacks, it was deemed a computer virus. Which was eventually cleared up. my robot continued to wreck havok even after the bugs were fixed because our team always produced more operations per hour than anyone else.
