NX vs. TT: Voice Memos

A friend of mine just bought a Tungsten T.  He showed me how he is able to record a voice memo and schedule it to play back, similar to an alarm, but he used it as an individual message.  He was able to quickly set this up as simply as scheduling a to-do or appointment - and did it straight out of the box, with no 3rd party software.

The only thing like this that I've seen mentiioned for an NX or NZ involves recording a message in Voice Recorder and converting into Sound Utility where it can be selected as an alarm option for appointments etc. However, on my my friend's TT, his voice message was used as a stand alone memo - not an alarm.  He even had a choice whether the recording played immediately or by tapping a button after the memo alarm displayed, so the voice memo would not be heard unless he wanted to (perhaps for privacy).

Have I missed this feature on my NX60?  Is there some 3rd party software that will enable me to do this?

No, there's no way to do this currently. You have to use the method that you described, using Sound Utility to convert it, then choose it as an alarm in DateBook or WA Clock.
