Using a file manager app, create an empty new folder under /Palm/Programs/Mapopolis, like "Home." DO NOT put any maps in it. Under "Menu"/"Maps" tap the drop down arrow and select MS. Tap to the right of "Directory:" and enter the path to this new folder, i.e. /Palm/Programs/Mapopolis/Home. Then switch the drop down arrow back to RAM. That should prevent lenthy MS searches.

T hat helped! Thanks! Mapopolis is still sluggish on my TH55 even though I am using only one county map (about 1.3 MB) with it and it's in RAM. I seem to have the latest version, too. Seems like early Navigator betas were much faster on my TH

Yes, for folks like you who do not want a map of the world on their PDA, their older release 1.39 was lightning quick on the TH55. I PM'd you for your email address if you would like me to send it to you. Mapopolis provides the main app free of charge . . . it's the maps/packs that are licensed, so sending you an older release is perfectly legal.
