#1 | | Guest | Keyboard advice (th55-us) I see a couple kb100s around, some on ebay, some on amazon, all over $100. Yikes. I also saw the two or more threads on the PalmOne wireless keyboard that works. I'm inclined to keep my device instead of replacing it, but I'd like a keyboard because pen input sucks for speed, so I find myself just not writing things down. So here's where you come in.
1. Have you used a keyboard with your th55?
2. Which one?
3. Would you rate it more or less painful than being eaten alive by beetles? How much?
4. Are there any regrets you have about your purchase?
I would really really like to know things such as "I like the layout of my kb100 because it's just like a normal keyboard," or "I think if they'd not left off the page/row navigation keys I would like this more" or "The krakon 2005 keyboard has all the arrows in a single row. I think this is dumb."
For instance, I once had posession of a Palm-branded PalmIII compatible keyboard. It didn't lock flat, so no lap/train use. There was no numeric row across the top, preferring the stupid function-style number row. The dock was flimsy, even on a stable desktop, occasionally dropping my device mid-sentence. Rather awkward to explain to your roommates that you got excited and ejected your Palm. Luckily, it was not purchased but found in the communal-work-junk-pile. I feel like I got what I paid for.

| i've got a Fellowes Thinkoutside keyboard and a KB100.
I liked the Fellowes for its small and compact fold up design. i could literally put it in my pocket and walk off. it's really easy to fold/unfold with one hand when in a hurry.
However, i REALLY hated the driver that it uses. it's really buggy, and frequently didn't work, requiring the user to re-enable it half-way through whatever you're doing. so PROS: really compact, full sized just like a laptop/desktop keyboard. CONS:driver sucks @ss, material is a little bit weaker than most others i think.
The KB100, in my opinion, is better than the Fellowes keyboard. It's build is much sturdier, and i feel safer with it in my backpack which takes a lot of abuse. It doesn't fold up as nicely as the Fellowes, but it's a trade-off: better material for smaller fold-up size. the driver for this keyboard is much better than the Fellowes. It is always enabled, and never crashed on me, yet. However, there is a slight lag when you press a key, and when the first letter comes up after you haven't used the keyboard for around 10 seconds. My guess is the driver has its own standby mode. pros: very sturdy material, has an adaptor that lets you charge your unit when it's docked (assuming that you've gotten the cable plugged into your keyboard), driver never fails. cons: doesn't fold up as nicely as other keyboards, the driver seems to have some sort of standby mode.
