| Yes,
This is definately possible. However, I don't think you can find palms upgrade cd's anymore. I have succesfully flashed OS4.1 onto my old Palm IIIx by
1. Getting the flash rom tool (for OS 3.5) from the IIIx page on Palm's website.
2. Downloading the OS 4.1 Rom from palm's developer website.
3. Unzipping the Palm Vx version of the OS 4.1 Archice
3. Asking the flash rom tool to use the OS 4.1 rom file from the archive
Works perfectly, except app's such as Clock and Memo Pad arn't available.

I could not find the flash room tool (for OS 3.5) from the IIIX page on Palm's website. Have they removed it? If so, does anyone still have the file? |

| I just bought an old palm m50x(can't tell what model) and tried to upgrade the old Os4.0.
So far from the upgrades I tried I get a message wrong model. So the m500 and the m505 upgrades haven't worked(can't update using an xp computer so I tried on a 2000w) my next try will be for a m515, but since it don't have a dimmer button symbol in the write pad area I don't think my palm is a m515. Btw my clock function looks weird to me since my Palm IIIc and Clie Tj-37 doesn't tell time like that.
On my palm IIIc I have the note pad function beamed from a m100. So borrow an oldie but goodie to get a function on your palm IIIx(x). It's cool to have the new desktop with those notes to read( too bad its not in color) |

| Why not install OS4 onto the IIIc, but calculate that you loose overclockability! |

So my g/f scoffed a perfectly good Palm V from a doctor she works with who was throwing the thing away. Anyway to upgrade that OS from 3.0?
