Icons in Zodiac Apps Launcher

The Zodiac launcher has special icons for certain categories, e.g. prefs, utilities, games, multimedia. Unrecognised categories get a bog standard "folder" style icon.

Is there any way to:
a) see all available / built-in icons
b) assign these icons to new categories

Secondly, but not wishing to get into "my launcher is better than your launcher", while the Zodiac's launcher is pretty good for non-stylus navigation and looks the part, it very quickly gets overloaded with icons. Are there any other launchers which make good use of the Zodiacs joystick and buttons?

I currently use Launcher X on my TH55.

Thanks,

Andrew

I use ZLauncher. The joystick pans tabs, select takes from the tap into the icon screen, pan vertically for horizontally until you find the icon you're looking for, select again to open the app.

I registered LX when it first came out but haven't used it in a while. How does it handle joystick navigation with the Zod?

Kenny,

Just tried Launcher X on the Zodiac and it sucks. While it looks great, the joystick navigation doesn't work at all. For me that pretty much rules it out.

If your the type of user that really likes being able to tweak UI and have added utilities for remote application launching via a small pop up pane accessible in any application, having storage card control to be able to seamlessly launch an application from the card along with any large databases that you'd only need when you launch the app, have the option of seeing upcoming calander events from your launcher screen, borage of custom themes, awesome file manager, seamless and native background support, explorer launchablility of docs and MP3's, and good joystick navigation support for the Zod's, then ZLauncher is your man.

I want to try yishow on my zodiac, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I had it licesned for my clie, so I have the 'yishow explorer for clie' and I need the 'yishow explorer for palm'. I'm trying to get the folks I purchased it from (that I have always downloaded updateds from - handango) to transfer my 'licensed product' or whatever you want to call it to the 'yishow explorer for palm'.

But I know I can just download the demo version of 'yishow explorer for palm' to see if it runs ok. Of course I'm not sure if I'd actually want to use it permanently or not. But I'm definitely going to give it a try.

Using a different launcher though won't solve the problem of not having information like a clock (which is why I can't believe there isn't a way to put a digital clock in the zodiac 'sidebar' is. I like knowing what time it is all the time, and with defaults on the zodiac I don't know that information without being at the base launcher level.

Anybody else been frustrated by that?
