| VZ owners: question about the VZ90's case... Hey CliePet, lmame, et al.
I'm debating on getting a UX50 vs. VZ90, I think I'm going to order the VZ90 from Japan-Direct. I have not heard a lot of info. regarding the case that came with the VZ. To me a big part of a PDA is how it's carried, the functionality of the case.
What do you guys think about the case? I tried to search for pictures of the case, but most were too dark to make out the details. Is the closure tab velcro? If it is, how is the velcro holding up? I think Sony could've done a lot better than velcro to a unit that cost almost $1 grand, if it is velcro.
Are there any other 3rd party cases for the VZ?
Thanks in advance

FWIW: I like it (and I generally hate all PDA cases)
The case is thick, padded leather, which adds to an already thick PDA

Yes velcro. It works great, very little wear and tear for me (but picks up lint).
NOTE: it is not a full case. It covers the screen, and the back (clever back piece hinges so you can place it on the cradle). Screw holds it on firmly (easy to take off)
The case mostly covers the cradle connector when closed. The stuff on the sides (CF slot, MS slot, stylus, headphone jack) remain exposed as is the power/hold switch.
I suggest you keep the little piece of plastic to keep dust out of the CF slot when not in use (also remove CF cards from the slot to increase the battery life)
Don't know of 3rd party cases. |

| At first I thought "what the hell is that??" because it was thick, it was really "simple" (one little velcro only), it was "simple" black and it did not protect the MS port (self ejection welcome I thought...)
Now I must say I got the same opinion as CliePet, I guess you can not find better, really easy to open, really easy to close, the velcro is quite powerful so it does not open in the bag and it protects perfectly the screen and the back. You can also easily access the CF, MS Port and stylus and no lost or self ejection for the moment (and it is always in my bag with a lot ot things)...
A good point for Sony on this case (ah ah...), I won't change it for another one, just perfect...
