| ux50 speed I've had a ux50 for about 2 weeks now and recently the processing speed has gone down significantly. I have about 6.7 mb free in ram. Things were pretty speedy until about 2 days ago, and I haven't really installed anything since. I do have docs to go (partly on the memory card). But it seems as though every program loads slowly, even trying to get into the hotsync menu. Anyone know how I can speed things up again? Thanks. |

| You did not install a hack or some software that runs in the background (verichat / pocket tunes / Snapper Mail)?
Did you try a soft reset?

About my gadgets, I'm now just using my psp, camera and cellphone. Maybe I will someday get a new pda, but it must to have phone cababilities so I don't need to use my regular cellphone anymore. And yeah, this means I won't be hanging in here 1src that much anymore. If someone want me to remove unfinished threads from 1src or something just pm me. Keep your gadgets running! |

| Hi,
I would try running a Speedy benchmark first. If the results vary much from 150, there is something serious afoot...
If this doesnt help, Hotsync the UX and then perform a hard reset on it(all data gets lost, try a sophisticated backup program fist maybe). ifn the unit is faster afterwards, one of the Programs must be the culprit. PalmInternals is said to have a program that detects this-so go and search the forums;-P |

| thanks for everyone's responses. i was able to speed it back up by using the cleanup program that comes with the neatfreak package. but everyone once in awhile it slows down and i have to use cleanup again. i wish i could isolate the problem to figure out which attribute cleanup is deleting that helps my system. maybe then i could stop it. anyway, i noticed that when it slows down my memory stick light goes on. it looks as if when it's slow it accesses the memory stick for every single operation, whether it uses the stick or not. i have no idea. any ideas? |
