How do I delete shortcuts in RAM

I tried to get AOL client to install in the palm\aliasext directoy, where I learned that programs there act like they are in RAM. True, but the AOL client seems to be the stubborn one and thows an error stating it cannot run from a memory card (it's NOT on card, it's in Internal Media.) Anyway, I cannot delete the darn thing now. I tried deleting but there is an icon of a padlock next to the file name and simply will not let me delete this in RAM. Looks like a very small file, so I assume it's a shortcut. Do I need filez to do this, can't the Clie Filer do the same thing?

Please help.

Thank you in advance.

Delete the file from the Internal Media, then soft reset your device again. The short cut should disappear I believe.

In other words, just do the reverse of what you did to get the program on there in the first place.

Hope that works!

In the past, I have had to delete the files from the Int. Media, and delete the shortcut from the handheld memory using Filez. You need to remove the "read only" attribute before removing the shortcut. The shortcut is the same file name with an "*". in front.

You don't specifically need FileZ, though -- there are several other apps that can do it. McFile is quite popular with UX users. as it's basically a beefed up version of the file manager that the UX comes with.

Thank you

I used Filez and removed the Read Only attribute and it worked. Thank you all for your time
