#1 | | Guest | Disable capture button Does anyone know how to disable the UX50 capture button? It occasionally gets depressed by mistake when I'm carrying it which can cause it to fill the memory card with noise and then lock up the UX50 completely (once forcing me to disassemble it and pull the internal battery before it would restart).

| Correct me if Im wrong, but if you simply put your UX into hold the capture button will be disabled (ie do nothing if you press it). But there has been a thread here a little while back on assgining the capture button to a different function (which is basically what you are after) but Im not so litterate in computing so I didnt follow the thread, therefore I do not know if they came up with a solution or not.

Re-assigning the capture button is exactly what I'm looking for but I haven't been able to find any prior thread - any leads to it or ideas would be greatly appreciated

You can only assign to Capture button to input media related features, such as voice recorder, camera, video recorder. Goto any of these apps. Click the Menu button, Options, Capture Button Setting...

By default, you are correct. However, you could use KeyQuick to map the Capture key to another function. |

| There is a utility named "DefaultCapture" which allows you to reassign the button, and one of the options is _None_. In this mode pressing the button does cause the UX50 to power on, but no application is launched. The utility also allows the button to distinguish between a Short and Long press, which means it can have two separate funtions.

| What I'm aiming for is to have the capture button function as a screen scroll in iSilo
Until the portrait mode becomes a reality, it requires either two hands or a high degree of dexterity to read an e-book with iSilo
Isn't an e-book media related? (ha-ha)

| Great work djl, I just d/led "Default Capture" (which is Freeware btw) and in iSilo assigned the "jog-push" button to page scroll and then in Default Capture assigned the "capture" button to "jog push" - easier done than said - bonus, the capture button still works in the camera mode as it should!
All in all a very worthwhile app - thanks again djl

#9 | | Guest | Thanks! Thank you djl! It took a bit of finding because neither I nor my browser speak Japanese, but the utility does exactly what I needed.

| No problem. I saw this thread on the other thread you started but decided to post it here since it seemed to me you were quite satisfied with Default Capture.

| Another tip I can give is: after setting up the button with MapButton, you can delete it or use PowerRUN to send it to the card. You will retain the settings. I opted to use PowerRUN. Thus everytime I want to change the settings, I have the option to do it fast.
