#1 | | Guest | movies in Media Launcher Ok I just cannot get this to work despite following the lengthy original post.
My media launcher works brilliantly. No problems at all visulisation lovely etc. Pictures show up no problem.
Can I get movies to work? No. Not one bit.
Can someone tell me the exact place to put the movies so that media launcher finds them? Plus what do they need to be named?

| did you convert ur movies to mpeg4? if so, u have to create a folder in ms called MP_ROOTand inside MP_ROOT created another folder called 100MNV01 where MPEG4 movies are stored. for regular MPEGs such as MPEG, MPEG-1 etc, u place in MQ_ROOT > 100MQV01 whre u regular place it. once u have done that, u have to select a tab in the left hand corner of the movie tab, either MPEG4, Quciktime, etc and then it will show the movies u have converted in either mpeg4, quick time, etc.

Make sure you have the MP4 Codecs installed. Look for the MP4 Efficiency Discovery thread in this forum. If you don't have it.
I also think you should try MQV format because the codecs for that format is built-into ROM and MQV videos have a better contrast ratio. They look better in my opinion. If you want to try MQV, use Image Convertor 1.0 or 1.5. IC 1.5 is on Sony's CLIE support site.

| I have a question somewhat relating to this topic.
I can create movies with the image converter that came on my UX-50 disc, and with IC 1.5. I tried IC 2 once but was turned off by most of it being unreadable (If this has been changed or a workaround found it would be different).
What I would like to do is see how much better a 480x320 video would look on my device. I read in another thread a way to do this, but I think the thread described it using IC 2. Is there any way to do it with 1.5? I just want to see if it would look any better than 320x240 videos expanded with Full Movie Player.
Thanks for any answers you guys might have.

MP3 - PALM/PROGRAMS/MSAUDIO
JPG - PALM/IMAGES or DCIM/101MSDCF
MQV - MQ_ROOT/100MQV01
MP4 - MP_ROOT/100MNV01
Now that that has been settled, make sure the tabs in each app are set to MP3 for Music Tab, Quicktime or MP4 for the Movie Tab and The Photo tab cannot be changed.
Record a video and see if it appears in the Media Launcher and find its source. Then place all your MQVs in that folder.
Same for pictures.

Now that that has been settled, |
It hasn't -- you forgot MPEG-1 movie files:
MPG - MSSONY/MOML0001
Note that this one has to be MPEG v1 multiplexed -- no other type (like MPEG v1 progressive) will work.
Also, worth mentioning are the naming conventions:
MQV - MQ_ROOT/100MQV01/MOVnnnnn.MQV
MPG - MSSONY/MOML0001/MOVnnnnn.MPG
... where nnnnn is a number, starting with 00001.

Thanks Art, I didn't know where MPEG-1 was located as well as for the extra info.
