| Treq 600 & Clie UX50 on same computer Has anyone had any experience with using both a Treo 600 and a Clie UX50 on the same desktop computer? I am looking at doing this, and was wondering what the pitfalls would be, such as installs, etc. I have used a UX50 and a Kyocera on the same computer without too many problems.

| I have had my Clie UX-50 and my Treo 600 on the same PC (Windows XP Pro) for a year with no complications. I had installed the Clie first as it came first. |

Did you have to do anything extra to make the Treo 600 work? I tried installing the Clie desktop, but then when I plugged in the Treo 600, it kept asking for the install disc.

| It's been over a year, so I don't remember the details, but it was not a problem. I think I just added the new user name and it worked. I remember being amazed at the lack of problems.
I had no problems until I recently tried to install the Treo update. It stopped with a message that the update didn't apply to Clies (!!) so I had to install the Treo on my laptop and do the update there. |

| I tried it last night. I installed the UX50 desktop, sycned it, everything was fine. But when I plugged in the Treo, it kept asking me to install, asking for the original disc or CD. Never could get past that. So I had to go with the Treo desktop software, then install the UX50. That worked with no problems. The only thing is the Palm desktop with the Treo only recognizes the extra UX50 memory as unknown media instead of internal media. But it all works. I was even able to install the data export function off the UX install CD.

| Thanks; that reminds me. I believe that I just proceeded at that point to intall the Treo software right over the Clie's. So the Treo becomes a second hand held ib the Clie section C:\ProgramFiles\SonyHandheld\Treo60.
Both PDAs memory cards have worked.
As I've said, it's been over a year (I bought both the day they first came available) since I did all that, and I'm wellover 65 years old.
Sorry about the slow recall. Best wishes. |

When you install new programs to your UX50, does it give you the option of storing it on the handheld, internal memory, or memory stick? Or does it call the internal memory something else. With my setup now, it sees it as unknown memory (but it still works).
Thanks for the help.
