| In another post there has been a suggestion that this is a gimmick. Now, I'm no nay-sayer, and nothing would please me more than TH in landscape (TomTom navigator especially :-)) so does anyone have an idea of the track record of Mobile Stream in PDA apps?

| I downloaded the meteor game produced by them to see how it is and that game's quality is not bad indeed, it might seem it can be true? Would like to hear what cliepet thinks whether this could be true. Although I don't think netfront for TH supports landscaping (like apps which support rotate for T3) which is a shame... =( but none the less sounds like good news. |

| Even if it's not a hoax, I suspect it will be *really* slow on the TH... the T|3 takes a ~50% CPU hit in Landscape mode because it's doing it in software, but with a 400MHz CPU this still leaves a fair bit of processing headroom. On the TH I'm not so sure... :/ |

Exactly, my abilities were before their time, literally. I could always say, first pic of zlauncher in fullscreen landscape. I got a t415, could I photograph that. Or I could take a picture of the TV in my living room. Samsung hlp-4674w, 46 inch 720p dlp w/ a 2000 to 1 contrast ratio. Can you say oooooohhh, aaaaahhhh. Well, there is a 50% hit with the t3 libraries, but programmed correctly, the hit could probably be a lot less. Remember, the 50% hit is with completely unoptimized programming. It doesnt take advantage of the processor, or anything else for that matter.

| This is something I'll be watching closely, especially with the snow piling up outside.
It started less than 30 min ago here in S. Jersey, and it's already a good coating! |

| OMG! They even plan to give portrait mode to the UX as well. Thank you MobileStream. Now us UX users can try the CLIE Organizer and you portrait users can try the Media Launcher!
Can't wait. Looks like the VZ isn't the only CLIE that can rotate now.

| If they can somehow leverage the graphics 'processors' in the TH then maye it'd be a bit faster, but since most of it is just resizing form components I'm not sure how much that, whats (I think) essentially a blitting accelerator, would help...
That said, running NetFront underclocked to 64MHz is bearable except when the pages is full to the gills with graphics and stupid table configurations.
Sadly, that does include most pages, like this one for instance... |

#15 | | Guest | OMG! That would make the TH55 godlike .
According to their site:
Adds only little slowdown. Not even noticeable for office applications.
Expected date of public demo version - second week of February.
I don't see any reason this should be a hoax. I'm pretty excited. | |
