| zire dead hi,
i have got a Zire 72. it suddenly went to a blue screen and will now not respond to anything including any of the hard buttons. it wont even accept a reset of any kind! PLEASE HELP!!!!!  |

| that is BAD problem... i recommend that you contact to palmone or atleast check your warranty if you have one....

| I've never had that problem but a solution Sony NX users had when our PDA's totally failed like yours was to disconnect the battery and leave it for a few hours then reconnect. I wouldn't advise this if you are still within warranty as it would most probably void it but alternatively you could leave your PDA to discharge completely.

| I have had an equal problem with the tungsten T3-the screen was ful of little squares, and no reset did help.
In this, case, just lay it on a desk and leave it sitting for 24 hours-it will give up when the battery runs low. Then, give it a few extra hours to let it's RAM clear out.
After that, the handheld should reboot cleanly. If not->Support! |

Goto Preferences -> Security -> Autolock -> Never
Hope this sorts this out until PalmOne issue a patch. (this is a very baaaaad bug)

| thanks guys for all of the suggestions.
it turned out it needed to discharge completely, and then it was fine. its very odd though  i dont understand it!!!

| I think that the display cable might expand in the socket or something, and cause bits to interfere with each other.
