Arrow [PC] America's Army: Special Forces

Does anyone that owns a Palm powered PDA play America's Army by any chance? America's Army is developed by the United States Army as a recruiting tool, but is turning into a popular online game. It's a free First Person Shooter (750 MB - Broadband suggested, if you've got a slow connection, simply pick up a copy at your local Recruiters Station the latest version is 2.2.1) available for download at www.americasarmy.com.

It's pretty good, but you'll need to go through basic training to play it.

But I like the gun firing, it feels fairly good like Counter Strike. You won't need to increase your rank like Enemy Teritory for better accuracy.

RtCW: ET?!?!?!?! That game sux0rs!!! People running around at 500MPH and you have to download a bunch of crap to play in a single server and and half the servers require "low pings" (I have DSL and still can't get in) which requires some kind of fiber optic internet connection or a T3 line.

Sounds like you should ask for your money back.

America's Army seems interesting. I haven't done much with it other than the practice range so far.
(Hard to make time for it between ET and Doom3!)

Refund.

I only play FPS games at LAN parties. No latency and everybody is on the same page. But I do play WC3 mods on Battle.net every once and a while.

Yeah, I should even though the game is free... They need to pay me back for wasting my time. I'll be more than happy to "help" you with the training if you willing to play.

I wish I could do that, but the guys I play ET with are spread all over North America.
I did LAN parties back in the DOOM II and Descent days, except back then it was a 1 on 1 "Null-Modem" party!

Fun stuff if you were the lucky guy with the 486/66 and the hot 2MB Diamind video card! (I wasn't. I had the 286/16Mhz back home. )

I haven't done it for about a year now, but it's a good way to spend time with friends. My friend is buying a house, so supposedly once that is setup will get together.

286 Crap when Doom 2 and Descent were released, I had a P90@100Mhz, a 4 meg Diamond(It was the top dog version, the one above the Viper.) and 40 megs of RAM!!! *Sorry*

We did the null modem thing and my friend also had an ethernet network setup, so we played the above games and others likee Rise of Triad every other day. I didn't have a life.

I had a 486 DX266 when Strike Commander and Comanche were released. My favorite PC was my AMD 386DX 40 and now my current XP2500@3200.

I worked for Interplay in 95 when Descent was released.
