| Holy smokes, is this a common problem with Memory Stick Pro??? So I am loving my "new to me" NZ90 and I decide to buy a memory stick. I go with the Memory Stick PRO (MSX-256S) and I insert the stick into my clie while I'm still at the store to make sure it reads the stick. Sure enough, I can format it and pictures that are taken are there on the stick and accessable. However, when I leave and go home I begin to have issues. If I click the MSImport option on my clie to connect to my desktop it will connect however I get the error, "No Memory Stick Detected."
So I think, well maybe there's a patch. Sure enough, I find the patch and install it only to find that it is still giving me the same problem. After what research I could stand it seems that I have found this problem to be consistent but not uncorrectable. After another 2-3 hours of my own research I call Sony and pay their rep 15 dollars so that he can tell me to download the patch, have me do a hard reset, have me reconnect, and have the exact same problem I was already having. Does anyone have any clue on the process to fix this issue? I'd really like to use my memory stick pro card (especially since my wife thought I no longer needed the receipt and disposed of it) and I would GREATLY appreciate ANY help into fixing this error. I will be checking this forum frequently OR I will gladly respond to any emails. Thank you in advance for any help in the resolution of this problem.

| Ok, so I figured it out. If anyone is having this problem this is a potential fix.
I had originally started using google to find an updated driver for my NZ90. What I eventually wound up in was the sony clie europe site, althought I hadn't noticed it before retrieving the driver and putting it on my clie. When I had downloaded the American driver and installed it the two were clashing, the new one did NOT replace the old one. And it was still present after the hard reset, so it must be manually removed and taken off the computer so that both are not put back on. Just a little heads up for the problem. The driver for the American Memory Stick Pro problem is MSPro_NZ90. Oh well, hopefully no one else has this problem and feels so stupid after figuring it out....
p.s.~I was on the phone with Sony's help line when I figured it out and demanded they refund my 15 dollars since I had figured it out and in the hour plus I'd been on the phone no one had asked me to check to see which driver was on the clie....I got my money back. |

| I had that problem with my UX40 when connecting to my PC using Data Import. It said "No Card Detected." I had to format my card and arrange files a certain way without filling the card with too much data. I was able to fix the problem but it was the actual card that caused the problem for me not my device. Probably due to its PRO. I have only PRO media so I don't know about regular.

#4 | | Guest | Hi Cato,
I had a simliar problem with my NZ90 a few months back. The problem seems to be that there are two different versions of th MS-SCSI Driver. The one that comes with the MS Import program on the CD will not work properly with MS-Pro. Go to www.sonyclie.org and click on the "Drivers" link. In the PC Applications column you will see a downloadable zip for the newer "Data Export" Program. Install the MS-SCSI Driver in this .zip file. Further down in the column you will see a link named All Clie Applications. Download this file (15MB) then load the Data Export .prc file into the NZ90. After the hotsync reset your NZ and reboot the computer and it should work fine. Post again if you have any problems or questions. | |

| **sigh**
I have tried two mem sticks, updated my clie several times with available patches, spoken to four SOny techs, and still, my Clie does not recognize my memory sticks.
I am using a 512mb mem stick pro. Any other suggestions? I have tried everything I can find. |

| i personally have not used the msimport for my memory stick.........simply because i find it faster to just transfer files through card reader.....i have a multi card reader that is usb 2.0........this is much faster....
plus no hassle to have your nz90 docked on your cradle with transfer speed of only usb 1.1
i have 256MB memory stick pro and 256MB CF card and soon will be an owner of 1GB cf card.....it will be difficult and frustating to wait if i am going to copy 1GB worth of mp3 and movie to my new cf card using usb1.1.......... |
