HELP! TH55 camera not working!

Hey everyone... I've had my TH55 for about 6 months now, this is my first post!

Having a little problem with my camera and hoping it's not actually a big one.

Everytime I've tried to go into the camera program (whether the cam shutter is open or closed) I get an error message saying "Uknown error occured in Multimedia System. CLIE Camera will abort."

I tap on 'OK' and it goes back to my main menu. I've never had this or any other problem before (besides a soft reset here and there).

I'm currently using ZLauncher 4.01, and I've actually kinda been noticing that I've been crashing a little more often than I used to. But I don't know if that's necessarily related to my camera issue.

Anyways, the camera doesn't work, and neither does the video recoreder. I'm worried it might be more than just a software issue, but I've never really dropped the TH or anything like that.. this problem just started up completely randomly.

Can anyone help PLEASE?!?!?! Thanks so much...

Oh, and I've already tried a hard reset... no go... still get the same message...

I had this and so have several others.

I had to send it back for repair, but the process isn't too painful

Just ring up Sony Clié tech support, tell them the problem, they may get you to do a hard reset just to be sure.
That out the way, they register your TH's serial no, take your address, give you a Case code and send round a DHL (Or whatever) courier.

Then you goto PDA Anonymous for a couple of weeks to beat the cravings and then Zing! your TH is back!

Seems that many many users experienced this, included me -_-...
Have to send your machine to Sony, that's it.

Cr*p.... I was hoping it wouldn't have to come down to that... I wonder if it's something I can fix myself... maybe there's a wire that needs to be resoldered or something like that... i don't even know if i have a warranty on this anymore or anything... oh well... guess I'll try to contact Sony and find out..

I was thinking that too, but I figured I'd rather not nuke the Warranty in case it turned out it wasn't something I could fix!

Of course, if your warranty is over already then there's no harm in taking it apart to see how it ticks I guess...

Just a thought...I had to send mine in so I called Sony support a little over a week before I went on vacation. By the time I received the shipping box and sent it to them it was about 3 days or so.
Anyway, I received my TH55 1 day after I returned to work so the withdrawal wasn't too bad...Also, I use my T665 while I waited...
Don't know if these thoughts would fit your situation but it's worth a try with the Xmas holidays coming up.
