Question pda-pc bluetooth questions

I've just got an nz90 and would be grateful if anyone could help me out with a couple of points that I'm not too sure on.
1. Am I correct in thinking that I can connect my nz to my PC if I get a USB bluetooth device to plug into my PC?
2. Will this allow me to connect my nz to the internet via my pc connection, or is it simply to allow wireless synchronisation with my desktop application?

Thanks in advance.

No idea really ... but it leads me to another question for those technically-minded people out there ...

I can wirelessly hotsync with the wi-fi card (SONY) ... I am still having problems with connecting to the internet thro my wireless broadband connection (ISP gave a half arsed reply about it 'can't be done without the right software ... '). Can I 'control' my computer / access the internet through a wireless connection to the computer? Obviously I can get remot access with a Pocket PC-type 'puter ... how about a Palm?

Anybody done it?

Cheers,

Nick

In order:
-Yes, you can get a bluetooth USB adapter and hotsync as well as surf on your NZ

-With the WiFi card, if you have a wifi card on your PC then you can share an internet connection and surf. Also with PalmVNC you can control your computer or any other computer that has the VNC software installed.

1. Try one of those USB BT dongle, it's pretty cheap these days.

2. You'll be able to hotsync/surf/ print/fax etc. using BT via your PC.

Actually, unlike Wi-Fi, BT is used to connect many devices, not only networking devices.

Hmm. Only within about 10 metres radius from your desktop. BT is limited and low power like that!

Works great if you live in an apartment though. I could be outside and still use it.

I've found the range with Bluetooth for Internet access from any of the BT dongles to be quite respectable --- in our house, it covers the living room, entertainment room, and half the kitchen with no dropouts.

At the office, it covers about half of our 1200 sq ft, as long as there are no walls (cube partiions are OK; less metal and no foil insulation inside) between myself and the Mac OS X box we use as a Bluetooth router to my Clie and my friend's Tungsten T.

Range is not nearly the issue I anticipated when I got stuff running.
