Clie Organizer Breakthrough!!!

fig 1

fig 2

fig 3

I found out how to use the Clie Organizer on the UX40. Being that both the UX40 and UX50 are built on the similar software and hardware, this should work for the UX50 as well.

I've found a way to also make the Clie Organizer run in landscape mode for UX users as well as have tabs at the side for your usage. It is really cool but looks messy after the size has been altered.

[DISCLAIMER: It took me a few tries to get it but before I got it, I hard resetted a lot!!! My data was saved from earlier. Be aware, that this might or might not work for you and you might have to hard reset! If you loose any data or device is destroyed, it is NOT my RESPONSIBILITY!!!]

Anyway here are the required files (note: do NOT ask me for files, get a TH55 and download files from device using Filez):
---------------------------------
-Address Sort Library.prc
-CLIE Organizer.prc
-CLIE_Org_Address.prc
-CLIE_Org_Applications.prc
-CLIE_Org_DateBook.prc
-CLIE_Org_FreeNotes.prc (although it shows up in tab, it didn't work for me; not required for Clie Organizer to work)
-CLIE_Org_MemoPad.prc
-CLIE_Org_Reference.prc (although it shows up in tab, it didn't work for me; not required for Clie Organizer to work)
-CLIE_Org_ToDo.prc
-CLIE_Org_Viewer.prc(although it shows up in tab, it didn't function right for me; not required for Clie Organizer to work)
-CLIEOrganizerCommonSkin.prc
-CLIEOrganizerIcon.prc
-NmDrawLib.prc
-NmLib.prc
-TabUILib.prc
-CodeDiver Application
--------------------------
1)Install all the PRCs above into your Palm Database.
2)Use CodeDiver to set all the CLIE_Org... (in blue above) apps to have a Forced Virtual Silk (fig 1).
3) Once set, restart your handheld. It should load up with the Clie Organizer and tabs to the right.
4) That's It!
5) You should also be able to use the Clie Organizer Logo to enter the Clie Organizer.

The only tabs that don't work are Reference and FreeNotes. The Viewer app shows nothing for me either. Otherwise all the other tabs work fine. There is a glitch in the Databook where you can't write graffiti past the virtual graffiti(VG) mark, but if you scibble a lot around that area, then leave for another program and revisit datebook, you will see scribble appear in the VG area. You can delete that using a menu selection and write freely in landscape. =D Enjoy!!!

Thanks for this tip. I have tried CO b4 but deleted it after 5mins since I couldn't make it run in fullscreen. Will try it again and see if its worth it.

Is your digitizer working correctly? It seems like the free writing is not working correctly. J/K

If there is demand for those files, I can make them available on sonyclie.org.

About 1 to 2 days. My device hasn't crashed yet =D. I find it annoying somwhat because the Clie Organizer is like a launcher in that when the Apps/Home Button is pressed on the Status Bar, it leads to the Clie Organizer. I put a shortcut in the shortcut section of the Clie Organizer so I can quickly go back to the ZLauncher, but it does get annoying somewhat and the FreeNotes, Reference nad Viewer tabs don't work which is a pain and I can't import pics.

My digitizer is fine. I lost my stylus and used a sharp edge to write it, plus I was in a rush to post this, so others could try.

Agendus is better with everything else except the Datebook function, you can make digital comments next to your scheduled daily tasks, but I find Agendus overall to be better. Clie Organizer is annoying as I said above if you have a launcher other than the regular 3D Clie one installed.

EDIT: I'm deleting Clie Organizer. After about 3 days of usage, I find that the UX is better without it. Now if I could use the Datebook only and include pictures, that would be great. For all software modders out there, can someone just make a datebook app for the UX from the TH55 Clie Organizer Datebook app and have all the features work. That would be great.

I reinstalled Clie Launcher again lol but without the FreeNotes, Viewer and Reference tabs as you can see above.

Basically, you can keep any tab and remove any tab from Clie Organizer by removing the PRCs that are in relation to the tab. Follow all the steps above and leave out any PRC you want except the Applications PRC or you'll be stuck in Clie Organizer forever. That way, they are eliminated from Clie Organizer with no problem.

Make sure under Options> Clie Organizer Prefs, in CO, that assign to home is not checked and in ZLauncher, under Options>ZL Preferences, that default launcher is checked.

Okay, you can find the clie organizer files on the website in my sig. However, my TH55 does not have the "CLIEOrganizerIcon.prc" file, so the archive is missing that file.

I will verify that all of the files on the website above work, even without the missing file. I have to say that the clie organizer is pretty boring (my first time trying it), with the exception of one aspect: I really, really like the fact that you can have text instead of just icons in the month view; I don't think agendus or datebook can do that, can they???
