| Can I make a hardware button toggle power? Is there any way to make one of my hardware buttons toggle the power? On my Clie TJ35 I hate the little slider power switch, so I'd love to use a hardware button to do it. There are a million freeware apps I've found that'll turn it off, but none that'll toggle the power specifically. I'm gonna see what happens if I install one of these apps, assign it to a btton, and push the button while the Clie is off, but I'm not hopeful. I thought someone might be able to think of a solution for me. |

| I have used TheGoGo (do a forum search) on my TH55 to use the Photo capture button for power on/off.
Thr power slider sucks indeed.

| Sorry, I just seen that TheGoGo is for the TH55 only.

| By default, you can power on by pressing any of 4 hardware buttons. Now to power off, since yours is not TH55, you can use TealLaunch. So there is one of your toggle power option.

Yes, but they power on the device and launch whatever application is assigned to that button. I'd like it to power on but stay in whatever application I was in when I turned off the device. The trouble I'm finding is to make the button be an "off" button while the device is on and an "on" button while the device is off. |

| At least you can map your favorite app to that hard button. The power off part can be mapped to that hard buttons press and hold to avoid conflict with press to power on.

| Is the TJ35 an OS4 or an OS5 device? If it's an OS5 device, I'd say backup your device and give THGoGo a shot. If it's OS4, then the ButtonOnHack might work (although I've never heard of it before, let alone used it). THGoGo worked well on my NX80.

CLIE does mean Communication, Link, Information and Entertainment?
|
Then how do you explain the E with ` on top of it in the name?
Last time I checked that was ot how they spell >Entertainment<.
Anyway, there are plenty of power button control programs out there (some even freeware). Check it out on palmgear.com.
And if you use ZLauncher, then you can even use a software button to power the device down. |

| With Zlauncher, you can map the Back button long press to Power off too.

| Check out 'DefaultCapture' at www.ogaoga.org. I've been using it for a while and it works well on my NX80. Basically it allows my Camera Capture hardbutton to act as a power button with either a long or short press. There are also other options to configure it to either hotsync, launch app and others. I forgot how I got to know about it. Maybe you can do a search and find out more. Their homepage is in japanese and might not be to informative. |
