| help please!
i'm trying to convert a video in IC 1.5, but i keep getting the same problem: it cuts off halfway through and complains that i'm out of hard drive space!! the video is only 6 minutes long, but about 2 minutes into the video, it stops and gives me the hard drive space complaint. however, i have plenty of room: 37 GB left free. anyone know how to bypass this?

| if you have XP, try right clicking on the file to be converted, select transfer with IC 1.5 and let it run that way. it is a short cut and may work. that is what I use. I can't even get the regular GUI to work anymore.

| Also, I know it may sound dumb, but make sure you're not outputting to the memorystick, in which case you might actually be out of space.

| daver,
I've run into the same problem--it seems to have something to do with the movie being converted as different movies give that error at different times, but always at the same time for that particular movie. (The movies I've had the trouble with have been MPEGs from Archive.org.) The best workaround I've been able to come up with is just to complete the film as a seperate file--although one movie ended up being split into 4 files, one of them only a few seconds long. This workaround is also annoying because if you set up a long task list and leave home, it doesn't help the problem of returning to find that the converter stopped in the middle of the first item on the list. But, unfortunately, searching these forums and elsewhere I have not found any better method--yet. |
