So, there used to be thread about charging problems with SJ30 & SJ33, but it's nowhere to be found now (yes, I know our Clies are considered "dinosaurs" at this point). I was having problems charging my SJ30, and it got to the point where battery life was dropping ridiculously fast after styling in a single new appointment. At some point, it just died. I would charge it for hours, turn it on, and it would die. I drew the conclusion that maybe my rechargeable battery needed to be replaced, so I browsed online and found a replacement battery with Laptops for Less. I ordered this battery, and when it arrived, I installed it into my SJ30 and attempted to charge it. Well, my SJ30 totally rejected it; the charging light kept going on and off. So I took out the replacement battery and re-installed the old battery with the intent of sending the entire unit to be serviced by Sony. Out of curiosity, I connected my SJ30 to the charger plug just to see if the charging light would go off and on the way it had with the replacement battery.

Well, it started charging. The orange light was stable. After 4 hours, it was good to go. And it continues to charge and work the way it did when I first got it. How bizarre is that??

Just thought I'd post my experience in case any one else out there has an SJ30 on battery life support....
