is there a mobile ac power charger solution for the UX?

For example when I'm at work or school and want to play games or do-wifi extensively I would like to have a portable power cable for the ux without that huge adapter. Is there any mobile solution out there without the cradle... that somehow plugs into the mini usb port in the ux?

here something like this
http://www.tangshop.com/sony-peg-ux...able-cable.html
but where one end plugs into AC power and the other into the mini usb port on the UX.

Or look for a charger case like the one Brando has, and others. You charge off the USB port of any computer through the case's mini-USB. Love mine!

The ONLY way to charge, or run from an external power source, a UX series Clie is through the 4 gold connectors (only 2 or used for charging) on the bottom of the unit. The mini-USB on the side of the UX's does not connect internally to the Clie's battery or power connections. You must use a "cradle"; either the Sony original or something like the neat Bando case, as mentioned by "mamut", that functions as a cradle.

Also, any power source will need to be the proper ~5v DC that the Clie needs or must contain circuitry to shift the voltage and, if necessary, convert AC to DC (hence the brick on Sony's AC cable)

If you search the archives, you might find some of the old threads that discuss various hardware hacks that some have tried to bypass the need for the added bulk of the cradle. Some were quite creative but only the hacks to the exteral battery to make it function as both a battery and cradle seem to be reasonable.
