| Personally, I like the look of it. I like that dark gun-metal color, and the design, while not a breath-taker, isn't bad.
That doesn't erase all the negatives about what you get for the price, though.
Interesting look at that Athena connector. Doesn't seem to be a regular mini-USB connector. Sort of a double thing, likely power and data separated, but why not use a standard mini-USB? |

Supposedly they brought out the audio and I'm assuming the serial signals out as well as USB.
I guess this is so the pda can drive speakers through the cradle. (Not sure if this is a standard cradle or a specialized one.)

Ah, and this would be the cradle that doesn't even come with a $400 PDA? Nice, palmOne. |

Compare the 4th and 6th picture. The mini-usb appears to be able to connect directly to the T5 and through the "double thing". |

| Actually, that link point to Palmislife.com which is a Taiwan Palm site. Thai User Group only finds the link. |

| I wonder why most people don't like TE like design. Isn't it beautiful? But it seems to be larger than TE. It would be a nice one if it comes without palmone's quality problems. I hope palmone would release os6 ROM upgrade we expected.

Cradles are, sadly, becoming optional. Sony didn't include one with the TH-55, and truth be told, I don't miss it because I sync over Wi-Fi instead of with the cable. I can't say that PalmOne is significantly out of line here.

Thanks for clarifying that. TPUG also states that in their site. I went to Palmislife but couldn't find the original post... anyway, their watermark is all over the pics at TPUG. |

| What do you suppose those graphs are saying? The one looks like battery lenght of charge. Does that indicate only an hour and ten minutes difference? If so I would hardly call that a big improvement. |

You are talking about a larger battery that is offset by a slightly faster processor and more RAM. It is an improvement, not a big one but one nonetheless. From just that alone, it should be a good day's better when only doing moderate usage. For those with unlimited phone data plans or heavy doc editing and music use, you may get just a little bit better than the T3. But what else would you expect, it is not like they are using fuel cells or OLED displays. |

Think about no cradle like this:
P1 is advertising the Drive mode, therefore carrying a PDA and cradle to and from everyplace would be silly. They sell it without the cradle and emphaize mobility. Now, they could have had a cradle, and the cable that would plug into it. That would be good, but would kill some of those important accessory funds.
Is $400 too much for no cradle for a device whose PR is mobility anywhere? Nope. For us who are used to getting cradles and then buying cables, which are usually $10 cheaper than the cradle, is it? Yup. But when P1 is wanting to pull a profit, those users lose out on that end. |
