Is VBR mp3 playable in sj33

Hi All,
I am thinking about getting the sj33 soon primarily for its mp3
playing capability. Recently I have just read a review that says
it will crash whenever playing an mp3 with variable bit rate
(VBR). Can anyone confirm this ? It is very critical since most
of my mp3s are encoded at VBR around 192 kbps using LAME.

Any response from current sj33 owners would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,

dmx

Thumbs down VBR encoded MP3s will crash sj33

If I load a VBR encoded MP3 onto my memorystick and lrun Audioplayer and view the list of MP3s, as soon as the MP3 in question goes to be displayed in the list, it crashes the entire Palm and it has to be re-set.

I received an email from a reader of my review saying that this is documented somewhere; i.e. a know issue.

Having a professional programming background I can say that this is a serious bug and that it should be fixed immediately; user-data should NEVER crash an application.

This is very worrying. Does anybody else have any comment on this ? Did anybody here try vbr mp3 on the sj33 ? I think the t665c can handle vbr mp3. If sj33 can't then this is a major step back. If anyone can try this out I would greatly appreciate it before plunking down over 200 buckaroos on a useless player (for me anyway).

Thanks,
dmx
