| This with PalmOS This is what I want with PalmOS on it. The pocket loox 720. http://firstloox.org/index.php?cate...p2_articleid=25
Like every brand PalmOne needs a flagship. It doesn't have to sell a lot, but it should just be cool and make people want to buy PalmOne handhelds. This is just why car manufactures make special models.
The new T5 will definitely need wifi if I'm going to buy it. Also USB host and 640x480 would be a bonus. |

| d-roC is making sense while we are all just making assumptions.
We are automatically assuming that Palm is intending the T5 to be their top of the line. We have, as has been made abundantly clear by the whiplash effect these two conflicting sets of rumors have had on us, NO idea what Palm is thinking right now.
They may be intending the T5 to be just that, their BT-only, long screen workhorse but now with a truly mad amount of onboard memory and the option for WiFi for those who desire it. if they had marketing sense (and they do), expect to see some well priced packages at CompUSA bundling the BT-only T5 and the wiFi card.
They could very easily use the T5 to get us used to the new memory concept (as someone noted, borrowed from Sony. Remember we have all been begging palmOne to learn from Sony? maybe they did)...then in the summer drop the C2 on us.
Imagine this amount of memory and BT, but with the addition of Wifi, a keyboard, and a slider. Perhaps the keyboard itself is removable with a very limited range BT radio built in, so you can use it as an built-in thumbboard in hi-res+ portrait mode, then snap it off, flip the C2 on it's side and use it as a wireless thumbboard for landscape mode. Admitedly, I am free-dreaming now, but I could easily see Palm having more surprises in store for us.
d-roC is right, lets wait and see what they have up their sleeve...hopefully we will be rocked.
Have faith, little buckaroos. It ain't over till Jeff Hawkins sings.

| All this speculation sure is fun, but if this new PDA is indeed coming out in a matter of just several weeks (Early Nov), the final design HAS to be finished & set in stone. So all the begging in the world will not change the T|5.
MAJOR design changes, such as adding a built in WiFi unit would require MONTHS of re-design, signing supplier contracts, etc.
So people.. whatever Palm is coming out with in Nov MOST CERTIANLY has long been decided on. |

| My question is why would you need that much RAM if you can't upload music or videos on it, I don't even use a 200Kb on my Palm V why would I need 256MB if you can't store that kind of stuff.
I agree connectivity is important, and the SD wifi cards drain the battery way too fast compared to a device with built-in support, you could lietteraly lose hours of battery life on SD wifi Card but you could lose up to 29 minutes of battery life on other models with bluetooth (HP iPaq rx3715) I don't mind not having the UC cause I don't use it, and bluetooth is useless for me (unless I get a bluetooth headset) I use my PC alot and the area is a wifi network.
And I think I might just move to PPC, because I could get wifi and a camera at a similar price (1.2mp camera) and I want the E2. |

| Winexprt is right too....whatever device we see in the fall is all ready to go into production. No changes will be made, and all the rumors and reactions in the world right now are likely just smokescreen. Let's all just stay calm and play out the clock, huh?
Hell, a lot of people are right lately...except for WiNoFi. I am sorry, but the Loox looks to me like a universal remote control with delusions of grandure. I will concede that the iPaq hx4700 looks groovy (love the touchpad and all those angles), but both the Look and the X30s look like you would find them in the drawer under the lamp at the Motel 6 outside Dead Man's Fang, New Mexico. Impressive specs, true....if you can find them for sale and if you can bear the rental car stylings of the units.

Who says you can't??
If you can load apps into it, you can load pretty much anything else that's currently PalmOS compatible i.e.: mp3's, mpeg1 videos...all of which I have on my PalmOS Clie TH55. |

The uploading could be done using BT or USB and I assume the cripples put into place on the apps so that media has to be played from an SD card will be removed...since 200+ MB is plently of space to stash a couple of CDs worth of MP3.

Let's hope PalmOne doesn't make me I've been a long time Palm user and I don't want to switch to the 'dark side', but I'm tempted. No matter how often I will be resetting the unit. |

That makes no sense but if it is true (where did you hear that, BTW), then the original question was right....what do they expect us to do with all that space? 67,935 WordToGo docs?

| Get the simulator and try to load any multimedia(which I have tried) and it won't accept it, but I'll try again with the new PalmOne Desktop |

Um...yeah. Because a 'simulator' is not a real device. |

| So I tried it out it would NOT put my MP3 on the Handheld but it allowed me to put it in the virtual SD card (that's just for the simulator). So Having 256MB of RAm is basically useless, putting in less or having an area dedicated to Music would be a smarter move than no Video/Audio.
And it simulates a real device. |
