| Sorry guys... found a link that worked... now my CF works like a charm for movies. It seems that the audio player isn't anymore though. I just keep getting an error about a missing library. Any ideas?? |

| Is there a list of compatible CF cards somewhere? I think I saw it and now cannot find it. |

| Hey, does anyone have the patched MovieRecorder, VoiceRecorder and ClieViewer using Mini's patch 2.20? I've tried to patch with the files grabbed from my NX73 but seems don't get the files shown on the Mini's page. The page shows screenshots of options for saving a movie recording and voice recording to both MS and CF directly. http://usagiya.g-com.ne.jp/mini/mp/minipatchEN.htm
Please help!! Thx!! |

| PROBLEMS WITH ALBUM SWAP
I keep getting problems with album swap. Every so often I try to swap the albums and it doesn't work and I have to rename the MSAUDIO file through clie files. And then sometimes I have to take my CF out and fix the issue by putting the CF in my computer and running fix disc (or something like that).
I am using a 1 GB Viking CF and the NX70. About 70% full of music on the CF.
Is it just me? Am I doing something wrong? |

| Seems I just wrecked another Compact Flash card trying to use these damned programs. I pull it out of my clie and put it in the computer and it cannot be read. Why am I bothering? Another $80 down the drain unless I can get my money back.
I am going to buy an Iriver. Unless someone can explain what I am doing wrong. I carefully click the "safely remove hardware" before pulling it out of my computer. Is there some other way to wreck these things?
Based on my experience I would say - do not use these programs. They have cost me two Compact Flashes so far. One will be replaced thanks to the Viking guarantee but the other one is a waste of money unless I can get Amazon to reimburse me.
edit..
Sorry I sound so stridently angry. I realize I may be the only one having these problems and that Pelica and Cliepet worked many hours to produce their freely shared programs. I just to watch CF cards go bad and then wait a month for Viking to replace it.

| Wrecking CF cards when using AlbumSwap I think I know what is causing this...
You need to stop the track that is currently being played before you swap albums. It happened to me, although it didn't permanently bodge the card, and I had to completely format it. Since I adopted the new process of stopping the track then swapping, everything seems fine. |

| I think I stop it every time - because I am worried about running down my old battery. But maybe this is it.
It wouldn't be caused by taking the CF card out of the clie while the clie is charging would it? |

| Or what about static electricity? Taking the cf card out and moving on foot on a rug in a dry room - would that do it? |

| Taking it out while charging would not affect it as the power supply to the card itself doesn't change whether it's on charge or not.
In response to the moving around on a rug and static energy, I very much doubt it. They are designed with portability in mind, however, if you are ever in doubt, don't remove the card if the hairs on your arms are standing on end.
If your cards are getting damaged it might be a problem with the Clie itself, so that's something you may have to consider getting checked out. |

| The first card was possibly damaged by my just pulling it out of the slot on the computer without safely disconnecting it with software first (the light seems to stay on forever unless I do that).
I was able to finally get this present card back to working order by turning off the computer, putting the card back in the clie and going to bed. This morning it was fine and the corrupted files were finally deleted as I tried to do last night.
So, maybe you are right about using swap while the CF is palying. I deleted swap and will do it by cliefiles for a while. |

| I've got a cheap-as-you-like 1GB card in mine and all apps seem to work fine, but I am to too lazy to take the card out and just do a 'Data Import' straight onto the CF. Saves pulling the card out everytime you want to put something on it. |

| Very helpful thread! It arranged my NX with CF just perfect.
Thanks, Reggie
P.S.
One note - when the "new" Movie Player is installed, the file SonyMMUtilLib, that is automatically added to the install, should be removed.

| Audio Player In trying to follow the instructions for installation of Pelaca's Audio Player, I cannot get past the step that moves the SonyMMUtilLib from the card to the handheld. It will not overwrite the existing file of the same name which it says is read-only. That also prevents me from deleting the original file.
As a side but related issue, now my Clie Audio Player will not work because it's mission a "software library".
Does anyone know how to overcome either of those problems? |
