| I need automatic backup software for my th55 So now i did learn that i must always have ram backup on ms...
...th55 did crash and i did accidentally warm reset (i was tired ) and then hard reset becose after warm reset half of my softwares did destroy from ram , so then i just thing that this is not big deal and it was hell more than big deal !! becose my palm desktop did work so well after those clie resets and even i did put hotsync manager on and i did go custom and i did set up options that desktop will overide handheld, but no effect ... i did't not even still get my softwares to ram, but my datebook and etc did come back... so then after that hotsync desktop did destroy backup from pc (not all but softwares from backup folder), so only things that did was in ''hotsync id'' folder was datebook and memo and etc. data + my backup folder where was half of ram softwares ... so in this place all things that i'm big ****, but i'm not, becose i did dual backup to pc on 5.8.2004 so no i'm just now hotsyncing....
SO I NEED AUTOMATIC BACKUP SOFTWARE WHAT MAKE RAM BACKUP TO MY TH55 MS EVERY WEEK...

| I'm also a very happy user of Cardbackup. Several others here seem to also like Backupman, but I haven't really tried it. Happy enough with CardBackup that I don't feel the need. Another one that I find interesting, is FlyBackup, because it compresses the backup to take up much less space. The downside is it doesn't alllow restores of individual files.
By the way, once a week doesn't seem adequate. I have CardBackup set to backup every night while I sleep. I keep two backups, CardBackup can keep up to seven.

| BackupMan is my choice. Very, very fast and works flawlessly. "Backup every week?" How about every day? Don't know how often your data changes but weekly would be disastrous for me!
I'm an owner and former user of BackupBuddyVFS. They didn't think enough of their customers to upgrade the app to work on OS5 until about a year after its release. I had to have something so found BackupMan. I will not go back to BlueNomad's product because they let me down as a customer.
I have not tried CardBackup.
"Remember make every" day "ram backup to memory card !"
Better than that, don't trust it to memory, schedule it and forget it!

| Cardbackup is my choice too. Backups at 3:00 am every morning. One runs every day except Friday. A separate one runs on Friday, so I have one that is kept on a weekly basis in case some issue comes up that the daily is bad.
I've had to restore a few times and the results have been just about flawless. |

| Btw, I just bought BackupBuddyVFS recently. I woke up finding my Clie SJ33 almost depleted of it's power Sunday just passed. It's cuz I set BackupBuddyVFS to do automatic backup at 4 am. But I thought my Clie would switch off after the auto-off time since I've set the auto-off to 2 minutes.
Or could it be the Screensaver Hack by Laurent Wibaux that caused this glitch? Anyone has experienced this before? |

| Unacknowledged alarms could do this. I set my BBVFS to backup every morning at 6am, so if it hangs up, I will notice it in few minutes. The automatically daily backup was used to be at midnight.

Anyway, I'm trying tonight by switching off Screensaver Hack. Lets see if it will let auto-off do its job after the scheduled backup. I will try an auto backup before going to bed to make sure everything is ok. |

| Hmm, i am using bbuddyvfs n bbman. Use 2, just in case 1 fails. U might not know if the files might be corrupted. Well, set BBuddy to backup at 1am, coz it does not have auto off function, my second backup is on 1.05am with Backupman. Since Bman comes with auto off feature, once backup is complete, Poof, auto off, Goodnite.

| I don't want to hijack this thread, but.... I'm interested to see DanT complain about unacknowledged alarms draining the battery. I had this happen to me a few times and at first thought it was an Agendus problem. I installed 1xAlarm last week and did some tests and my TH55 does seem to auto-off after an alarm now, at least in my tests. Do you have duplicate alarms, i.e. when you acknowledge an alarm is there another one behind it? I wondered if it was the interplay between the 2 notification windows that was confusing auto-off and that maybe the side effect of 1xalarm fixing the duplicates is also to fix the auto off. Thoughts?
