 | I got $500 to use....what should I do?
O.K. here is the deal.
I have $500 to spend on a PDA.
And of course I am a big fan of Clie since I did recently owned the NX70v. Since my NX70v have broke, and I now need to get another one, I often think of what PDA I should buy next. I want to get the top-of-the-line PDA!
My choices:
1. TH55
2. Pocket PC
This is a very hard decision since I have so many palm programs/games and I love all the features of the TH55
But I have never tried the Pocket PC and I also would love to try out new top-of-the-line gadget.
So for those who has a TH55, or better yet...have both the TH55 and PPC, which one should I get this weekend at CompUSA?

With www.jr.com selling them for $299 and no tax, you could almost buy 2! 
<edit> I just checked J & R.com...SOLD OUT. I must have gotten one of the last ones 2 days ago.

| I own a h2210 and will own a hx4700 in a few monthes, as well as a TH-55.
My advice for making a purchase NOW is to go with the TH-55.
My reasons?
1. The 4700 is not available yet and it is the best by far of the new iPaqs...first generation units won't be in anyones hands until Sept 9th at the earliest according to HP. Beyond that, I don't think anyone should buy the first production units of any new device. Let the early-adoption crowd do the bug-checking, especially when you are spending $600+.
2. I am not impressed with any of the other new iPaq units and would not recommend them.
3. The TH-55 is a better unit in my opinion than the best two iPaqs available now, the h2210 and the h4150.
4. Processor management makes the TH-55's performance roughly equal to the larger chips used by the iPaqs with the added bonus of better battery life.
5. The TH-55's screen is vastly superior to any currently available iPaq.
6. Data formats offset the larger amounts of memory on the iPaqs. The files used by PPC are much larger then those used by PalmOS.
I really enjoy my 2210 and as I said, I will be buying a 4700 eventually so I have no prejudice against WM 2003...but for right here/right now functionality I would recommend the TH-55 (or the Tungsten C or Clie UX-50 if you are still looking at other models). Also, the time is right to buy Clies before they become unavailable in North America/Europe.

| I guess the best thing to do with the $500 is to get the TH55 and a 1 gig memory stick rather than the HP iPaq Pocket PC hx4700 for $650 with no storage media.
But for some reason, I still wish I also have the iPaq.
