m505 won't hold a charge very long

My friend has my old m505. I never had any problems with it when I had it and she's only had it maybe 4-5 months. Now it won't hold a charge for very long (approx. 3-5hrs.) and then will lose all info. Any ideas? Thanks.

Just have it charging then press the reset button (Soft Reset). This will reset the charging limits and ensure max charging. Leave it charging for 4 hours just to be sure. Hopefully the battery will improve. Li-Ion batteries usually last only 2-3 years.

If you need a new one, go here:

I should have asked this first:

"approx. 3-5hrs." of usage or just sitting around?

Do you have this problem if you Hard Reset, but don't Hotsync right afterwards? If so, it is a hardware problem. Give Chris Short at ips@chartermi.net a call. He charges very reasonable rates, and is very good.

No hotsync done at all. Some programs installed via infrared but that's all.

I once had a program that refused to shut down until my batteries ran dry. Very annoying. After Hard Reset it was gone, and I made sure it did not install again.
