When my pda is turned on a funny ..ringing 'eeeeeeeeeee' type noise comes out of my pda. Its pretty low level but when things are quiet it can be pretty distracting at times.
Anyone else have this problem?
Bought my pda in october good thing I got the extended warranty (regular warranty is 90 days, and no screen replacement) in case this is an actual problem, would hate to ask them to fix my pda and its a normal problem (and no it isn't a ringing in my head, verified it with my brother's ).
Read another thread think it sucks if you buy a brand new pda and say within 3-7 days your pda screws up you send it in and get it replaced with an old one, hope people are able to argue to get it exchanged directly at the vendor. Me I bought it online so I'll have to go the palmone route.
WEll here's to some feedback on this annoying noise.

The noise you describe is very likely to be the screen. If you turn it sideways away from you is it quieter. If yes, then it's the screen.

Do a search here for screen noise and I'm sure you'll get plenty of threads. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with your machine, but it can be irritating. I have it on my T2 and it doesn't really bother me, but some people have returned units because of this issue.

Oversensitive hearing I guess

It's not oversensitive. I have the same problem. And It`s very disturbing. My TE its new I bought it in December.

My screen made a buzzing sound, which wasn't too bad at first. But, over a short period of time, it got louder and very distracting. When my D-pad stopped responding, followed by the silk screen not recognizing graffiti correctly, I exchanged my old T/E for a new one. The new one is a November edition and so far, no problems whatsoever. The three problems I had happened in relatively rapid succession, so you might want to keep and eye on it. It may be nothing, but it may be something going wrong.

When I received the TE it was quiet now it's a month later and from time to time I get the same sound.

It's not good to hear such a pitch because it can hurt your ears.

Your right I posted the first post topic on 01/2004 got my pda in october around the 22nd (delivered that is) don't think I could hear the noise during october/nov/ but december till even now the noise is still there.

yes, i have the same "problem" with my T/E. it sounds like a gnat noise, i dont mind, but my frind noticed it. Maybe he has better ears. What can we do with it ? :-)

I used PXAClocker to change the system frequency on my T3. The noise disappeared. Also Lightspeed works fine.

I get the same sound through the headphones especially when using the stylus, and it's definately noticeably loud
